On the 2008 STi, it didn't work
3/5

I attempted to use this tool on two different fuel line connectors but was unsuccessful. I tried everything after watching YouTube tutorial videos and reading forum posts. I believe the issue is that the "compressors" are too thin and do not depress the connector's clips. br>Due to the shape of the hard lines that feed the fuel rails, I couldn't even get the tool into two other connectors. To make it fit, I'd have to grind the prongs' ends down. br>On top of that, the tool is overpriced for a single-use piece of nylon. br>I used two picks in the end. Once I got the hang of it, it wasn't nearly as difficult. The seal will not be damaged if you only go about 1/2" into the connector. br>Try the Company 23 version if you really want a dedicated fuel line tool for your Subaru; it seems to be popular.

It didn't go as planned
4/5

My Subaru was given to me. There is some doubt about whether this will work on your Subaru model, as some other reviewers have mentioned. As- The fuel line brackets and obstructions on my 2013 Forester XT prevented it from being installed. But, because it's made of plastic, I was able to separate the two halves, allowing me to work on each half separately. Fortunately, because it's made of plastic, it's pliable enough to work around obstacles. To make room for the second half to be inserted, first insert one half and then rotate it around the pipe axis. You can, however, make it work on a Forester XT if you're reasonably handy. And I believe it is still far more convenient than fiddling with pins and other improvised tools. I docked a star because it's pricey for something that didn't work without some tinkering.

For the 2017 Subaru STI, it didn't work out so well
4/5

Because I didn't break it, I'm giving it a high rating because it's versatile and durable. I was able to release some of the fuel lines on my 2017 STI with this tool, but I had to improvise with other items (metal picks) for some of the disconnects that sat next to bends in the hard metallic lines.

Just go ahead and buy it
5/5

I've used metal clips from ball point pens to remove Subaru fuel line "quick connectors" on numerous occasions because standard metal fuel line tools from local auto parts stores won't work on Subarus. I finally made the decision to purchase this tool and now I'm kicking myself for not doing so sooner. The fuel line easily popped off, and I'm relieved that I didn't damage the internal seal. If you do any type of engine work on Subarus, this is a great investment.

It's perfect, and it does exactly what it's supposed to do
5/5

Subaru employs a custom-sized fuel line and fitting that necessitates the use of a slightly thinner-walled fuel line. The fuel rail moldings prevent them from being a one-piece design, and they also prevent them from being a walled tool like the usual kits. This tool solves both of these problems while also keeping the pieces together so they don't get misplaced. As a Subaru technician, I use this several times per week.

Everything went smoothly, and the tool did exactly what it was supposed to do

For a small piece of molded plastic, it's quite pricey.
