I've bought several of these converters and have had no problems with them; I rebuild several transmissions a month and switched to Torco because the previous place (assault racing) was a crapshoot as to whether it would work or not. Torco has always been exactly what it claimed to be and has always performed as expected.

Obtain the factory torque converter if at all possible

It's possible that the stall speed I purchased was incorrect. This caused my transmission to shift back and forth between 3rd and OD while maintaining a constant speed between 35 and 40 mph. 70+mph. It comes and goes, but I believe it will quickly burn out my third and fourth fears. Before you buy anything, make sure you understand the exact specifications of what you'll be getting, especially when it comes to installation.

The installation went smoothly; I used 3 gallons of AC Delco fluid to fill and flush the old fluid out. br>br>Was trying to pass someone on the freeway when it slipped and overturned. revved. The temperature reached 205 degrees Fahrenheit, when it usually stays between 160 and 180 degrees Fahrenheit. 190*. I gave it two stars because it could be the internals of the transmission, but at 170k miles, it should be fine.
