ARP bolts are, in my opinion, the best available. Nothing else will suffice. When I removed the transmission from the engine, there was only one bolt holding the torque converter on; the other had come loose years ago and was sitting in the service pan. The loose bolts had left scars all over the place, and I'm surprised they didn't get shot out of the bell housing. They weren't ARP bolts, by the way. I can assure you that the new ARPs will stay put and will not break or come loose (of course, some lok- It's also possible that tite will come in handy). br>br>Quick shipping and on-time delivery!.
Bolts from ARP are the strongest and most durable on the market. Get these to make sure you don't break them. When I installed a Circle-K bumper on my 2008 Chevy Trailblazer SS, these bolted up perfectly. To my cammed LS2, I'm using a D 258mm single disk 3600rpm converter.
These bolts disappointed me because they were too short and didn't have a tapered end. I was also holding the fly wheel in place with a tool, so there wasn't enough room for a socket. I used factory screws, which can be tightened with an Allen wrench. This was a complete squander of funds.
Replace these critical bolts whenever you apply torque to them in the same way you would any other bolt. These ARPs, which are made in the United States, are highly recommended. Later on, you'll be glad you did.
After battling for two hours only to discover that these are coarse thread and my converter is fine thread (I had to drop the transmission to find this out), Amazon's search engine, which claimed to be for my vehicle, was incorrect (this is the third time this has happened to me), and I will no longer purchase auto parts from Amazon.
It's not a stressed bolt (it's not a pressure plate bolt with 6000 rpm clutch dumps, for example). Having said that, these ARP bolts are of excellent quality and should last for a long time. Why shouldn't the torque converter get some love, too? I use ARP bolts in my engines.
The fit and function are perfect. I appreciate that the site's proper size was also advertised. Fits 200- 1986 Monte Carlo SS 4r torque converter.
ARP is a little more expensive, but it's the only way to go if you're serious about your work.
