OK, these are a MILE too big for a TH400 or TH350! The bolt is twice as long as it needs to be and has a diameter that is too large. Even if I drilled the converter out and shortened the bolts, there's no way I could fit a nut in there, not even close! br>br>This is the first time I've ever seen convertor bolts this long. Oh, and they're a 12 point bolt, so if you're in a tight spot, good luck getting an open end wrench on one. I even double-checked my order on ARP's website to make sure it was the same part number. Simply put, using these on a TH350/TH400 is physically impossible.
I've had the same problem with the second batch of these. They were fine once tightened, but when I tried to loosen them, they wouldn't turn, acting as if they were cross threaded when they were actually put together by hand before tightening. Other than these, I've never had a problem with an Arp product.
Great looking bolts, but they will not fit a TH350 converter because the bolt holes are too small. You will need the next size down. This was an aftermarket TCI converter that did not work as described.
I was able to get my bolts quickly, but I had to drill a small hole in the flex plate. Strong bolts that fit snugly are preferable to me. The bolts from the other brand were too short and slipped out of their holes. My build is a BBC with a Power glide and a stall speed of 4700 rpm. What ARP has was exactly what I needed! I am overjoyed!.
The only option is to use ARP.
ARP bolts are the best car insurance money can buy. These bolts were larger than my factory flywheel bolts (which was odd), so I had to enlarge the flywheel bolt holes with an angled die grinder. Apart from that, the bolts are excellent.
These were purchased to go with my 1969 Corvette 350/300HP. They were too big for the converter I bought from B. It wasn't necessary to use the nuts because they were too big.
