We're unsure whether or not they're slightly more powerful than the old ones they replaced. In the past, the topper doors moved smoothly and held the door open smoothly, but the replacements allow them to close without any issues. The struts are exactly the same size as the old ones in both fully compressed and fully extended positions. The open to fully closed measurement remains 3 inches, almost like they're slightly too long once fully compressed.
I purchased them and installed them myself. It was easy to install, works great, and was very easy to set up You just have to be mindful of the strength difference between these and conventional ones Those are reasonably priced factory replacements if you are using them for the same purpose as me. I have to hold the lid as I open to prevent it from flying up, but it is doable and the replacements have worked well for me. Though I probably should have researched the actual amount of tension, I am happy with the purchase and the way they perform.
The supports were ordered to replace the ones on a rain cap canopy that failed. I thought they were going to be a problem since they were just a little bit longer than the originals. In addition to working well, they lift the glass a bit higher than before which I like since I am less likely to hit my head on it when I walk. Despite their stronger than rated strength, that is good, since they will last longer than the rated strength. Even so, there is a very low probability I will have to replace them and I am unlikely to purchase.
According to the guidelines on my shell, this item was listed as the correct replacement for the struts. There is a 1/4 inch difference in overall length between the original and this one. There is a little more travel on the shaft and the body is a bit longer than the previous model. As a result, when the door is a few inches from closing, the shaft bottoms out and then the mounting points flex, so that the door can In the event that the mounting points are intact, then I will leave it alone and.
The lid holds my toolbox shut and keeps it open just fine. It was easy to install. Ball studs popped right on to the studs. After 13 years, both of my old struts failed at the same time, and the old struts had a 10 lb load rating. Since the new ones are 24 pounds, closing the lid takes a little extra effort (if I need to do so at all), but nothing too challenging.
I have found that the original shocks on my camper shell seem to be higher quality, with spring clips that are easier to undo and the size stamped right on the side in order to make replacements easier. Installation went smoothly with these units, and so far they have been performing well, even during the winter. The one thing I want to be sure of is the longevity of the products, which of course can't be determined Nine years have passed since the original units were installed As long as I get at least seven out of them, I will be happy. (You may deduct a star if they die too soon or add a star if they live.
The lifters in this pickup topper are a little longer than the original ones in the pickup topper, so I had to relocate the brackets on the side. Apart from that, the boots fit well and have significantly more lift than I anticipated. I find this to be a good thing, as the tension of the window prevents it from opening and fluttering while I am driving, even if the window isn't fully closed and latched.
The ones on my truck topper were damaged, so I purchased these to replace them. My replacements took only a matter of about five minutes and they've worked perfectly ever since. I like how they hold up my top or door quite well and look like they are sturdy and well-made. The decision. It is only with time that we are able to determine if longevity will succeed. We will follow up in a year or two.
