Questions & Answers
The hood of a car should only need one
The answer is yes! The bar will easily fit any standard hatch or hood strut, and it will even hold on to your screen door.
As long as the center rod diameter of the strut is not larger than the maximum diameter opening in the clamp, it will work.
I can see that the opening of the gap is about 7/16 of an inch and the depth is approximate around 5/8 of an inch.

Furthermore, I recommend that the large colorful tag be left in place. Even though it seems dumb, if you work on expensive cars like I do, it's well worth it to avoid accidentally causing thousands of dollars in damage to delicate mechanisms. There have been a few occasions when I almost closed a convertible top without removing the clamp, but then I saw the green tag. Thank you so much, it means the world to me! Lisle is well made too, you can always rely on them.
My work would not be possible It is common for hood support struts on many vehicles to fail, especially when it is cold. As I work, I no longer have to keep a pry bar or vice grips next to the hood to keep it open. Most vehicles can be fitted with this. The owner of a car with a failed support should keep one in the glove compartment in addition to having a technician replace it. Holding the hood open with your hand or head is a bad idea if you're trying to jump start your car or change your air filter. More tools will be added to my tool box in the near future.
I rely on these every day! came across this tool at a local auto repair shop and the service guy told me they are expensive and they cost $30 each but what a pleasant surprise it was to find these for a reasonable price! There's a lot of weight in the hood of my Dodge Ram truck. With ease, it holds it in place. Thank you. I am very pleased with the result.
Its size and overall construction makes it a high-quality unit, but it's not too bulky or heavy that it gets in the way of your work. I find it to be just right for the intended purposes The purpose of these helper lifts is to support weak shock absorber For my '03 Dodge Ram which has a heavy, over-sized hood and I use mine as a support, I use it to help hold it up The hood should be the right size. The unit uses two very small shock absorber lifts to raise the hood to its highest point, but they should barely hold it in place. There will be no hood on the car without the support clamp if there is any breeze or slope. Compared to the cost of a new shock absorber, the clamp is a lot less expensive. The price for one for my son's jeep rear window a few years back was outrageously high. Although I forget the exact price, it was way more than we were willing to spend. Instead of holding it up, he used a long stick for many years. The clamps we use today would have been handy back then had we stumbled upon them. I guess we'll just have to live and discover. The clamp is easy to use for a single person and is fitted with a bright warning ribbon that can be used to remind you to grab the clamp- You may use it if you wish.
Those original struts had lost enough pressure so that they could no longer hold the hatch open on any day but the hottest, and they were weak enough so that on the majority of other days the hatch would fall back down after it's been The last thing I want to do. I recently discovered that Amazon stocks struts that will fit my car offered by 3rd parties Please keep reading*.
Has it ever happened to you where you went under the hood and the vehicle hit you Yes, it has happened to me a couple times. As a result, that possibility is eliminated. can't recommend this enough to anyone else who works in a garage or shop area it saves your head it saves you the headache it's easy to set up you just clamp it on with your manual clamp it on and have no pain again! You can remove it from the package because it has a green tag with bold letters that tells you to take it off, which is helpful because you sometimes forget to remove.
It is very good equipment for safety. There is a Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible in my collection. Opening the hood is difficult due to its heavy construction and windscreen position. While performing repairs or maintenance on your vehicle, this tool ensures the struts will not collapse the hood on your head.
The most popular choice among professionals and do-it-yourselfers. A support clamp that is probably the best on the market. If your hood struts are flat or close to it, this could be a significant problem. It is the brand that my certified auto mechanic uses. This is a professional mechanic I trust, so I can trust their product. * I have tried other brands (that were cheaper in cost) but nothing is as good as the Lisle product. Check it out. Highly recommended!.
