Questions & Answers
This is not the case, I would think. My understanding is that it is for Chevy and GMC. When you input the make, model, and year of your vehicle, you can find exactly what you're looking for.
The size should be right. The year of 2008 and 2010 appear on the page.
If you need guidance, contact the seller. To obtain additional assistance, please contact Amazon if they have not replied within two business days.
There will be no compression of the shocks. Fix the top half of the door to the bottom half. Afterward, you should push open your lift gate more than you think you should and attach the bottom over the top. As soon as you push up the lift gate, it will go up. With a second person, I found it easier than when I did it alone.

Initially I thought this item would be a good purchase to replace the OEM struts on our 2011 Chevy Tahoe. But after closing the liftgate, it opened dangerously fast. I found installation to be simple. I would go no further than that, unfortunately. The liftgate opened quite fast to my surprise at first, but I didn't pay much attention to it since it wasn't being opened all that regularly. We noticed a loud creaking noise from one of the struts a few months after we had installed the liftgate. We didn't know what had caused the noise, but it was evident after we opened it for some time. In my communication with the seller, they were quick to respond and send me a replacement set, which was also delivered quickly (definitely a positive aspect of the seller's service). About 2 days after receiving the replacements, only opening the liftgate a handful of times, we realized the creaking noise was gone but the liftgate was opening dangerously fast. It was opening so fast that it caused one of the new struts to break. To see what my options were, I approached the seller, and they informed me that they would not be able to issue a refund and encouraged me On Amazon, I paid $20 for these OEM struts, but I went ahead and bought them from an GM parts supplier online for $92 (displayed separately, right and left have different part numbers), while my struts from an GM parts supplier costs $92. There is an immediate difference between the two. As of this writing, the OEM struts have been working well after installation because of their heavier weight. It's actually the OEM models' liftgate struts that have pressurized gas so they will not swing open dangerously quickly, instead of being constrained by the gas. Unfortunately, I would not recommend you spend your money and time on the struts for your liftgate.
I was going to the dealer (Bryan Chevy in Metairie, The replacement cost me less than $17 and took me no longer than 10 minutes. Putting the hatch on manual, raising it, having someone or something hold it up and then releasing the springs holding the old struts will allow you to remove them. As the new ones are installed, the springs are left untouched. I saved $280 and it could not have been easier. An online video is available on YouTube.
Five months after first usage, the FAILURE occurred. I had the product installed on February 15th, 2019 and everything went smoothly. I am pleased with the performance of the product. It is now FIVE months later and the product still sounds like it is in trouble. Binding noise is heard when the tailgate is opened. I checked the installation. A correct installation was performed. The product did not perform as expected nor last as long as Investing money in a product that does not perform well or does not last long would not always be the best if it didn't last more than five months of minimal use. This upsets me a great deal.
These will be used in my Escalade XT 2009. It is a good match. while the liftgate was already open, they made it open with an abrupt bang. As soon as I remove the key from the liftgate to open it, the liftgate swings upwards dangerously. It had occurred to me I would hold onto them for a while and hope they would change with time. One of them broke after about a week. The old struts had to be put back to make sure no risks were taken. As I examined the broken one, I realized it was broken due to the force of the spring. It was able to be put back together, but I do not use it any longer.
However, it is very easy to install and I am very dissatisfied with this product. It is hard to say which is the cause of the stiffness of the new shocks. There is a lot of resistance when it comes to closing the hatchback. Make sure you keep an eye on the hatch when you open it! A lot of force is required for it to open quickly. There was a feeling that these would begin to become easier to open and close once they "broke in. ". I wasn't able to do that. In order to make my Tahoe back hatch safer, I am searching for a better shock/strut.
Now that the vehicle has been in use for a couple of months, it's time to change the oil. I love the way it works. It doesn't seem to be creating the noise or failure others have described. There is only one thing wrong with it, and that is that the ends where the piston shaft goes into the body are As soon as I pulled the OEM ones out, I observed no rust. However, they are working so it is not a huge issue.
Just like others, I nearly crushed my hand when I failed these. They were easily installed after I bought them from Amazon in June 2020. I lived a happy life up until last week when the tailgate of my Tahoe broke. Now I may have to buy new lifts from GM so I won't lose my hand. I nearly lost my right hand when I tried to stop it. Make sure you are buying from a reputable seller.
On June 5th, I ordered two pairs of these, and they were delivered on June Installation is quick and simple, and the lift is extremely strong. Six hours after the start of the meeting A baby came out of one of these 7 weeks ago. It did not hold so well on the place that I had to reinstall it and it kept slipping out all the time. In my attempt to contact the seller, I did not find any contact information. Have contacted Amazon, but they claim that they do not have any involvement in this. In my understanding, they are not liable for the product, which is correct. I simply want to get in direct contact with the seller to see if there is a warranty in place and how to handle this situation. The seller couldn't be contacted by Amazon because they weren't providing any contact information. I was sad to have to go through this.
