I kept getting hit by the tailgate on my Jeep Grand Cherokee when it dropped from the open upright position. My problem was solved when I ordered these supports and installed them quickly and easily. Getting hit in the head is a thing of the past. If the tailgate is up, it stays up. It is still easy to close when I want it to be Thanks for your kind words.
The only thing I regret is that I should have replaced my shocks sooner. There were too many clunks in the head for too long before I actually decided to replace them. My husband and I did this in a few minutes after we bought a new alternator, no problem. I was thinking I'd have to go to a mechanic to do this, but it was so easy. With two people it is easier, since one can hold up the tailgate while the other installs the bumper. In case your tailgate is falling down all the time. Now is not the time to Put them in their place. I'm so glad I did that.
I was afraid to get a quote at the auto shop and used an umbrella to prop it up instead. I had a colleague at work offer to find replacements for me at a junkyard, and he did. I had to endure the heat holding the gate open to let him install them, but it did not His online search for the products led him to these, and they worked just fine. My loading and offloading timing was so hard to balance the gate and time because I was struggling so much. My new found freedom comes from this pair of headphones that work so well! On top of that, I saved a tremendous amount of money compared to a repair shop! I really appreciate you offering such a great product at a very reasonable price.
The item fit perfectly on my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee & also on the front bumper. With this change, the rear hatch is now self-raising & automatic Stays up the whole time! The factory pistons would have needed to be replaced did it on my own in about 30 minutes, but I should be able to do it again in less than 10 now that I know how. only trick to getting the hatch fully open was to prop it open with a 6' ladder, then kick the legs of the ladder in toward the jeep, to get it It allowed the piston screws to fit perfectly into the mounting holes and to align perfectly with them By doing this, any cross threading is prevented. Orders are processed quickly and delivered quickly Dimensions are exactly as they were in.
Taking over a 2000 Grand Cherokee that was getting old but still reliable. Installs and fixes in less than a minute. I was able to swap this part with the gate resting on my head since the gate has a height of about 6ft when it is open. Lift gate has mutli-action now, so it can lift as well as gate. As for longevity, I cannot confirm it, but for a 19 year old vehicle, it might be a function.
Despite one strut being rather stiff, it wasn't a problem to position and they kept my tailgate up without a problem and were not difficult There is a distinctive difference in the metal properties of the screws as compared to the ones in the stock setup. As I was tightening the struts, I actually stripped one of the screws. Hopefully these struts last long enough for me not to need to replace them. A stripped screw extractor may be able to do the job. Just be careful when installing them.
Don't waste your time or money buying them. The first step is to screw into the vehicle's existing pre-installed hardware When drilling holes, the torx bit in the ratchet slipped, and I wasn't sure how it stripped until later. In order to install both top and bottom nuts on the lift simultaneously, you will need to turn both of them a couple of times. As you can see, I unscrewed the other nut and returned I was dismayed to learn that the other head had also been stripped. Having found the mechanic, I now need to find someone who has the relevant experience Here are some tips on getting that nut A 70 year old DIY female can't do that (BTW, I'm a 70 year old). In contrast, the metal strength of these lifts is not comparable to the original GM part (saving and using the four original nuts is strongly advised if you buy these poorly made lifts). Last but not least, the enclosed instructions don't apply to this style.
A budget auto parts store that is cheaper than a chain The installation was very easy. If you have someone hold the lift gate while installing, it will be easier. The quality of the product is much better than anticipated (the product was ordered for a I just used the old washers with the new hardware, so the only slight problem was that washers weren't included. The Torx or star driver is not included among the required tools. Since I was holding the lift gate in one hand, as well as removing and installing the hardware with the other, I needed the ratchet driver. Five to ten minutes are required for installation I will be 10 minutes late.
