Questions & Answers

The item you are viewing does it appeal to you?

It actually happened that I had an incident with it. My wife came to me in July and said I need to look at the back lift gate of the Tahoe because it looks odd. I installed the struts during the late winter. The two struts to the rear lift gate window somehow got over pressurized to the point where they lifted the two hinge brackets right off the body as soon as I went out to investigate. It was actually necessary to remove the two struts and reattach the hinge to the body, but I left them off for the moment. When I did not receive a response from the seller, I was very disappointed. However, I replaced the struts on another vehicle we had no issues with. Please accept my sincere thanks for your assistance

Does Tailgate exist? Would you like to talk about the ?

There is one set that is for the entire rear door or tailgate while the other is for the windows alone.

Does this set fit the rear lift gate and rear window on a 2004 GMC Yukon Denali XL?

The product says it will fit, so it should work. The Tahoe 2005 tires fitted perfectly on my vehicle. In order to gain hands-on experience, I had my daughters do it. It took only two minutes for the old ones to be removed and the new ones to be installed. The power of these things is undeniable. It is reasonable to expect a satisfactory result.

How is it possible that fitment no.2 does not state 2002 cadillac escalade?

You can use it in your 2002 Cadillac Escalade and it includes two pieces

It's important to keep the strut from building pressure in high temperatures
3/5

During the month of March, I ordered the struts for both the hatch doors and the window and installed them without difficulty. After a month with no problems I came to my truck last week mid-July and saw my rear hatch window protruding up two inches. I was totally baffled I thought maybe somebody was trying to break into my truck, but there were no signs of forced entry and the door I discovered that the new struts had created pressure enough to actually expand the struts so they broke the two hinges right off the spot weld on the window itself and bent the lock bar on the window itself requiring a very costly repair. We have yet to break 100 degrees in the bay area in California where I live. There needs to be some kind of check on the specs of the.

to fit in the window at the back
3/5

I have a 2005 Surburban Z71, and the cylinder is too long. A small piece of the back window needed to be removed before it closed fully. Despite my best efforts, I had too much pressure on the window so it wouldn't close. My goal is to replace the original equipment with new units once I have returned the set. Despite the fact that the struts seemed fine, the fit was not good, so I gave the item a grade of one.

I can lift the tailgate fine, but the window takes too much time to lift
3/5

It is a good idea to have a tailgate lift. There is, however, a 1/4" too much length in the compressed length of the Window lifts. Thanks to reading reviews and careful installation, I was able to avoid having issues. The bottom bracket hits the cylinder before door closes, but it is close. Some have reported that you can easily break the window brackets if you force it. The Suburban I drive dates back to 2004. Not at all what I was looking for. As you can see from the attached photo, there is a reason for that. There is a reduction in the length of the cylinder part of the original cylinder. The distance it has to travel is less. There is a reason why they don't work. In reality, they do not.

This product caused damage to 1/2 of it, so I am not satisfied with it
3/5

As a result, I cannot lift up the window because the screen ripped away from the window, so it can no longer be operated. Now that I did not have other methods to maintain the window open and I have to remove them from the rear window, I have to remove the rear window so I cannot open it. In addition, the rear window is heavy, so I will have to replace it in order to open it again. In my car, I have (2) strides laying on the backseat. I'm not happy but I am going to wait for Amazon to make the decision. A photo of what I am attempting to describe will be added as soon as I can.

Strong shocks like these are occurring here
3/5

These are 10 months old and I bought them online. My door stays upright with no problem and I have to use the strap to close it. One thing that makes the window ones so strong is their strength. My wife and I use the door instead of the window most of the time. Monday morning, my husband went to open the door for me to put some things in and was not able to get it to rise all the way. It was only the latch(that had been pulled away from the window) and the shocks that held the window closed when he brought the door back down. Our rationale was that it was due to age and we needed to have it replaced. A window had to be replaced today, but when closing it one of the shocks snapped the loop. That will happen again tomorrow. It was too heavy and that is what pushed the hinges off the window without use. He asked my husband if they had been replaced and he explained that the hinges were too strong. It was suggested that we should get a second set before the $600 window is destroyed.

You should triple check that it is suitable for your particular type of As described, I was annoyed that the 4 pack set only fitted latch door and not the rear window of my 2002 Tahoe because it says it is compatible with that year
3/5

Is that all right with you? The rear door works very well with this.

The window struts are Make sure you read the fine print before purchasing
3/5

These are the struts I bought to replace all four on my 2005 GMC Yukon XL . It took two people to install the first window strut, but the installation of the tailgate struts was straightforward. There were no issues with the tailgate struts, but read on for issues with the window struts. It required one person to hold the window open all the way, and a second person to compress the strut because the strut was about 1/2" too long even with the window open all the way. The first warning I had about the setup was that once the window struts were installed, it became nearly impossible to close the window because so much lift capacity was generated. I thought I would be able to manage that. We opened the rear window a few times then the struts were always more difficult to close than they should have been as the months passed. Our tailgate popped a few weeks ago when we tried to close it. After recognizing that the glue that holds the window to the hinge had failed, it took a few minutes for us to figure out what had happened. this can happen on these older GM SUVs, but I know the overpowered struts force it to take more pressure than it should. Our window hinge failed due to the failure of the struts, so the whole thing needed to be replaced. I recommend that you DO NOT INSTALL these window struts on your GM SUV as they are overpowered. There seems to be no problem with the lift gate struts, but the windows appear to have been.

I installed the installation kit on my 2002 Suburban easily and it worked well
5/5

Getting rid of the old ones was the most challenging part. Seeing as the video was shot across a yard, you may want to wear safety glasses in accordance with the instructions. It took no time at all to snap the new ones on. seem a little tight and, in fact, it took me a while to find the right one to close, but my old ones were likely like this when I bought them. As I slowly fall behind the back hatch, it will be nice to no longer be bumping my head on it. As soon as I unlatched the hatch, it slowly opened up all by itself!.
