Your lift gate does not need these. They are for your rear window. I just wanted to clarify so if you're thinking of using these for your lift gate it will be short.
These work great, and installing them is very simple.
I'm not sure, but it fits like factory oem and at the price you can't go wrong.

A new one is not hard to install. Added two glass lifting struts to fix the problem caused by weak ones. The only issue I see is that they are a little too rigid. It might be possible to do pull-ups with a small child A glass could be placed on top of another without falling to the ground. If you are pulling down in the center, you need to take your time. It is highly likely that you would break something if you pulled it down too quickly and without any warning. I'd like to edit my review on 8/22/20 There was a lot of stiffness in the shocks. I thought they would soften with time, however, it didn't happen. Another issue has arisen because of their actions. Some type of epoxy is used to attach the hinge to the glass. Stress is placed on the hinge by putting too much pressure on the shock absorbers. The epoxy eventually failed as a result. There are issues with opening and closing the hatch because of that. Also, there is a risk that the glass will break. Around $600 is needed to replace the glass. As far as the lifter struts are concerned, I'm done with aftermarket parts.
In a nutshell, You are doing a great job with these. As soon as I heard my wife complaining about getting hit in the head with the rear glass while unloading groceries, I knew it was time to replace them. As I was installing these, I was hit in the head and I didn't think it was all that big of a deal. I love it. Their work is excellent, however. It is not too strong, but it is enough to lift the rear glass with only a slight The price is good, and I highly recommend it.
On my ‘03 Tahoe, I installed these wheels just a couple days ago (04/22/18) The fit is perfect but the material is a bit stiff. Over time, I'm sure they will loosen up. I was able to install both sides in about 15 minutes. It was a very satisfying purchase and I would recommend it to others. The following update has been posted to After almost a year of purchase, they are still in pristine condition. Nevertheless, I am very satisfied with the service.
With 300K+ on my 16-year old car, I was exhausted of having the rear window in place The year is As we have experienced a number of icy conditions this winter, the old Suburban's used to fall on my head when it's cold, so we bought these to replace them. Installing the new ones was easy (removing the old ones, which was challenging probably due to their age), but getting rid of them was more challenging. My window stays firmly open now, but it is easy to close with one hand. I would buy them again, but they will last for 600K+ miles after that, and I believe that by then I will live to see the end of them.
It arrived super fast and I took about 2 minutes to put in I am so happy that my hatch glass no longer hits me in the head! The closing is a little stiff at first, but I am certain it will become easier with use. The best I have ever tried.
The shocks in my old car wore out, so I kept hitting my head with glass. Some reviewers said the shocks were very springy and held the window open easily, so I purchased them. It is truly true that this is the case. It took under five minutes for me to install these new ones after removing the old ones. I have no issues with them. They are working Thank you for a great.
It was up to me to put the set on. I used a stick that had a cloth at the end to hold up the glass. We had both struts on and wiping down the area in less than 10 minutes. While I've seen reviews regarding it being stiff, it is just as sturdy as the glass it holds. You just need to slowly close the glass. My glass was slamming when I had my dogs in the back last pair of my struts, so I knew they had worn out. My experience has been really good with this. I hope they are more durable than the last OEM pair, which lasted only two years.
For a 2004 Tahoe Z71, do this DIY for the front rear window if it's not holding in place. I'm glad I was able to repair the window myself and I now have a working window. The hydrolics in the other reviews seem to be very stiff, but I think the amount of pressure is just right for.
