It was well packaged when it arrived. I opened the items and examined them. The item appears to be in good condition, with no bent or dents. The installation was simple, just removed the old one and put in the new Even though I had to look down at each point, I still looked at the angle. I was able to remove both struts in no more than 10 minutes. I lifted the locking pins and they popped out. Do this again on the other side, but don't forget to clean the anchor. Everything seems to be going well so far. As time passes, we will find out.
This is a 2007 Toyota Camry SE that I put them on. Apparently the angle end on the wrong end is what is causing complaints, since mine has the angle end on the wrong end. However, the ends screw off so they can go where they are needed. Ensure that you tighten them all the way down in order to be successful. The ends are screwed on and off, but most people don't know that.
Using the flathead screwdriver to pry back on the clips will easily allow the clips to come out of one side so that the ball and socket can fit in each other. As a result, using this technique to get my clip back into place was no longer possible. I had to take out the whole clip in order to obtain enough space for the other side of it to slide up and into place. I was pretty unsure how the clips would hold the ball in place after the original shape was distorted so I wasn't sure how well they would work since they didn't provide the snap-action I was hoping for When placing the item on, a "place" sound is heard. So now we'll see how these work on a real-world basis after I jostled it around pretty good to see if it would come off. It did not come off so they'll have to operate as intended.
The price was great, the fit was perfect and the shipping was fast. The hood struts are very securely held up by these new ones, and it only took a few minutes to replace them. You just have to make sure you hold the hood securely while it is opened. In order to work nicely, they must be installed backwards in comparison with the OEM struts. Just install the angled end in the same location as the OEM struts (front edge of the hood) and you are good to go. The old struts came right off after I used the small flat-tipped screwdriver to pry off the clip on them as I pulled. In order to install the new struts, I simply aligned them over the balls and pushed them into place without removing any In spite of having just purchased them, I gave them a five-star rating for value, as they appear to last These buildings are well built, and I cannot imagine that they won't last for a.
It is a complete waste of time and money. A few years ago, my OEM Hood Struts on my car failed after 12 years and 270K miles. There is a problem with these disposable hood strut end caps. They are made of such cheap plastic that they break when removed from It was easy to remove the OEM struts without breaking their retention clips which were more than 12 years old. It was a brand new set of struts, out of the box, that failed before being The garbage is totally out of control! When I tried to install the OEM end caps on the new struts, there was a problem because the new ones have a thread size that is not compatible with those on the OEM ones. There is obsolescence in the sales plan of this company Building it to fail and making it cheap so they can buy a replacement is the best strategy. There is no way to describe this garbage other than to say it is rubbish.
We pulled out the old ones and reinstalled these new ones. raise the hood, it would only go about a quarter way up before running into a strong reverse vacuum It was not possible to raise the hood more than 12 inches due to resistance from the struts. To remove the ball joints, I'm going to need someone to hold the hood half open while I reach in and grab them. It's an absolute waste of money and the lifts are.
This is a very sturdy material. I had to apply a certain amount of force after I installed my hood. IT IS GOOD TO KNOW THAT, HOWEVER. It is confident that when I am in the engine bay, the hood will not suddenly fall on me. You can install it in a few minutes. The caps do not break, despite reviews suggesting that they do. The inner clip will expand and slip over the ball joint when you wedge a flathead screwdriver between the plastic and the metal band. You shouldn't be getting metal out of the hole.
I watched some directions online for about 10 minutes and that was enough for me to figure it out, the item arrived fast and well packed. It has been a few months since I purchased and installed it, and it is still working well. In my car I did not install both since the other one was fine, so I cannot say with certainty that both work. Still, I did install one of the two from the set as the other one was fine.
