On my 08 RAM, my AC fan motor seemed to work just fine for short and local trips of up to 1 hour. The resistor failed after only a couple of hours of use when we were on the road. It is visible in the picture that an electrical "burn" occurs when a high current is passed through a loose connection or a gap in a welded joint. - It is important that As the resistor dissipates the most heat when the fan is set to low, it is best to ALWAYS set the fan to high after starting a hot car to prevent the already very warm resistor from getting much hotter after being I think it's a sensible decision.

Simple to install, replacing an OEM unit that only worked at the highest setting on an 02 Ram 1500. Despite being set to the lowest setting, this one still does not work, but that could be due to something else entirely. This was an excellent buy at the low price. The installation took about an hour, with only a few easy to access bolts under the glove box. After you clip in a wiring harness, you're on your way.

It appears to be the same as the original Mopar part. The ac has been on on several trips for more than four hours over the last month, and all the blowers have been on at max speed. As compared to the OEM, there is no noticeable difference in operation.
