There is a visible repair on the hardtop, but it is for the roof
Purchasing it for the 2016 JKU was a no-brainer as there were no significant changes to the body between 2016 and 2018. It's not possible to have a body paint matched hard top unless you have a custom body kit.
I wore this with a freedom top in black textured fabric. The gloss black body paint doesn't make a difference.
My 2013 Jeep Wrangler sport unlimited has this and it does a good job. It is a bit troublesome because the marks are exposed to washing water/the sun and we have to remove the roof panels from time to time. However, it is well worth it.

The paint in this touch up kit was precisely painted to match In addition to some small chips and scratches in my hardtop (and my son walking into the side of the garage when I took the top off), I had some other small problems. When the damages were touched up, it was virtually impossible to tell where they were before. No nicks or damages can be seen as a result of the matte color. While I cannot vouch for a match on the JK/JKU hardtop, it is likely to be the same colour.
As a result, I chipped a corner off of the gutter on the passengers side of my 2017 JK Unlimited hard top, right behind where my freedom panels mount. This is the standard black hard top, and the broken part was made of white material that looked like fiberglass. Kind of stood out against a Rhino jeep with black top, so I purchased this to match the color, and it has met my expectations. As a precaution, I will keep the bottle in my tool bag in case I need it again.
You should not use clear coat, just paint. The 2015 JKU Hardtop was fitted with this. I just have to say that this has to be one of the most satisfying projects I've done in a long time. The color match is perfect and it even As long as you are not looking at it closely, you will not even notice. I had a few deep scratches, so this fix might not be perfect. You won't regret getting it, I'm delighted with it! Get it, you won't be disappointed!.
The hard top at the back of my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL is perfect for this. The top got a few scratches when I took it off and put it back A little bit of this paint will make no difference. You just need to let it dry and you will not see anything. For those who own hard tops, a must have.
I like it very much. Obviously, because my roof is a little oxidized, the touch-ups are visible more than I would like, but I wouldn't blame the touch up paint for that.
It seemed like the right thing to do since my 2019 Wrangler hardtop was chipped on many different places. I have generally found it to work well and the paint matches fairly well. As far as I discovered, be careful as you use Only a couple of uses caused it to fade away to a small stub. the only thing I don't like, other than that, it works great.
There was a small rock chip on the roof that I used this touch up on, and it blended in seamlessly. The best way I found to get rid of it was to apply several thin layers.
Putting the Jeep top back on and taking it off repeatedly caused the paint on the hardtop to chip. Cleaning the surface first is the key to getting the best results from the paint.
