The item does not appear to be what it appears to be. There was no label on this roll, so it was completely random.
On paper, the protection tape appears to be a good idea, but dealing with it is a pain. I had three people, including myself, attempt to separate the tape from the paper backing. The backing kept splitting at the edge, making it nearly impossible. Half of the backing would peel away from the clear protection tape, leaving only a thin paper film glued to it. MOG, I wasted too much time messing around with the tape and damaged a good portion of it trying to remove the backing. I tried pulling it apart with a sharp knife, fingernails, and masking tape on the front and back, but I'll never buy 3m tape again; believe me, I can build houses, design aircraft, and repair automobiles, but this 3m tape was the most difficult. It also didn't lay well once applied to a surface, with air bubbles all over, which took even longer for me to correct. My money was a waste.
This appears to have been taken from a pantry (i. e. Not the cleanest cut, but wider) roll down to size.
So there's no way to tell if this is a genuine 3M product, and the next time I buy it, I'm hoping to do so from a brick-and-mortar store. as well as a brick-and-mortar shop I won't be buying it from this seller or any other that sells it with this phony warranty. referred to as brand.
I didn't get a roll like the one in the picture. In a plastic bag, I received only a small roll.
This protector has performed admirably over the course of a few months. We use it to protect areas on my bike that are prone to rubbing or chipping, such as where the wire rubs against the paint. So far, everything has gone well.
I have painted cupboards in my rental, and the area around the knobs on the doors under the sink is constantly getting worn off and scratched by the tenants. I use this tape to protect the paint in those areas that get the most wear. It's hard to notice the tape because it's clear. It's simple to put on, but I haven't had to take it off yet.
The rolls aren't 2 inches wide, and one is longer than the other. br>I am extremely dissatisfied with the outcome.
