Xbox 360 Fat (260 GB) Hard Disk Drive HDD for Microsoft Xbox 360 Console (Fat Console Only/Not Slim)

Nextec is probably out of my sights after this. The 8GB Xbox 360 I bought this for would be an upgrade from the original 8GB A "warranty" sticker was placed over the connector of the drive, and I was surprised by that. It turns out that the company is trying to pull a fast one with a sticker that reads "Amazon Returns Serialblabla. ". It is only possible to return an item directly to the seller once it has been removed. My ability to test the drive is hampered by the cable going over the connection. I hooked it up with the transfer cable and found the connection tight and wobbly. Eventually, I got the drive to work and hooked it up. Once my content was transferred, I hooked up the drive to my Xbox to take the place of the 8GB. XBox is unable to recognize the new drive. The drive is not read A rock-solid connection exists between the original drive on my xbox 360 and the controller. That is also true for my other drive, which is a 120 GB drive. Furthermore, the internals are wobbly, and the dimensions are oddly sized. It is also wobbly, and the internals move when touched with my finger. I think this product must be a shoddy knock off since it is a bit longer than the official drive. It would be better for your money to go somewhere else. In order to remove Amazon's "Amazon Choice" rating, I would recommend you remove the metal sticker on the top of the drive that says "320GBHDD. " The metal sticker looks bent and crumpled, likely from So, you might want to go to YouTube and see how you can upgrade to a 2nd drive. A hard drive with five partitions.

I would not recommend purchasing this hard drive, as it turns out that it isn't even a Genuine Microsoft 360 Hard Drive, as it lacks the proper Backwards compatibility emulators (no way to copy the software or apps from a genuine hard drive to make them Upon discovering this, I had a friend with a 120GB 360 Hard Drive that was fried from an Elite console and, as it turned out, it had died on him. As soon as he proposed it to me, he gave it to me & Please & thank you I am pleased to announce that Halo 2 has finally worked. In other words, beware of the buyer. To ensure it is the real article, make sure that it is the real article & I'm not talking about a cheap imitation here. It's the flip side of it that I took the Housing apart & rebuilt it I discovered that the hard drive was a Western Digital 500 GB Scorpio Blue notebook.

After reading several reviews regarding the NEXTEC XBOX 360 hard drive, I made my decision. I ordered a hard drive from Amazon and it came within 24 hours. I unpacked the package, removed the old drive, ripped off the tape that was covering the connection to the new drive, and plugged it in to the Xbox It didn't take long for the hard drive to be recognized when I switched on the Xbox 360. I completed the entire process in about two minutes. All in all, I am very satisfied with my purchase and would strongly recommend the NEXTEC XBOX 360 replacement drives.

I was pleased that it arrived fast and was packaged well to prevent damage. However, if it did, they promised they'd replace it as long as it was damaged during shipping, and it appears to be an easy return procedure. Only a few seconds were needed to do a quick system update to get the hard drive to work with my Xbox. Nothing seems to be wrong with it. I used to have a 320GB drive but had to update it to a 289GB drive, and now I have 215GB This is not at all bad.

But this drive was cheap and it's an official drive so no hacking was necessary. All you have to do is swap the drives, boot the XBox, and you're ready In order to move your data from your old Xbox 360 to the new hard drive, you will need the Xbox 360 data transfer cable. There are several Youtube videos showing you how to do this, but one from 2013 particular stood out because it also used an official.

The nextec device was purchased from them. The device had to be pressed pretty hard into the controller in order for it to connect, but once it did, the 360 recognized it without any issues. I've been loading all my add-on data onto it, as well as downloading I think it works fine on my end, but it looks like a rebuild on the outside. There are specific models of hard drives that can be detected by Microsoft inside the cases. For those thinking this is shady, Microsoft only supports certain hard drive models. The person who has a model other than the 360 has probably performed some high-tech tricks in order to make it recognize the drives as well.

I ordered this Xbox 360 replacement drive for the 360 FAT model and it was delivered to me within one day, despite just choosing normal prime shipping. I give you a thumbs up for your Also, it installed, was recognized and was working flawlessly, and at such a cheap price, I'm kicking myself for not having picked it up sooner. This is not an OEM part from Microsoft as far as I am aware, but there does not appear to be any issue with the drive's operation. You should consider this product and seller if you are in the market for a new drive.

Profiles and previous drive saves can be copied to the new drive after they have been saved to a USB flash drive. Movies and videos will not be transferred. 360 games will not play on the new drive, however, since the firmware from the original Xbox 360 cannot be transferred to the new drive. Getting a new Xbox 360 drive will solve the issue of too little capacity in your original Xbox 360 drive.
