Selected User Reviews For 120GB Hard Disk Drive HDD for Microsoft Xbox 360
To begin, the page for this states that it was created by Microsoft. The hard drive is clearly not a Microsoft product, so don't be fooled into thinking it's a genuine product at a reasonable price; the one picture shows it as if it's a genuine product, but there are no seals on it like an official product, and the dead giveaway I'll get to in a minute. I'm honestly surprised that Amazon would allow a counterfeit product like this to claim Microsoft status on their site; that's bad for business. This section is for you if you're okay with using knockoffs and this isn't an issue. The hard drive I received had been formatted incorrectly. Normally, you would connect the hard drive to your Xbox via a data transfer cable, and the console would prompt you to perform a data transfer. This wasn't the case. As a result, I tried manually transferring data using the computer software. There were only two partitions for the hard drive when I brought it up. A total of three partitions are supposed to exist. This wonderful piece of equipment became a paperweight while waiting for an RMA because the partition I actually needed to do the transfer was not installed from the factory. I'm disappointed in both this company and Amazon for attempting to smuggle counterfeit Microsoft products onto the market, especially counterfeits that don't even work as they should. It would have been a better review if it had at least performed as expected, but unfortunately, several other users have reported the same issue, leading us to believe that many of these are lemons. It's a risky purchase.
I'm not sure if this product claimed it, but I'm going to say it anyway. I didn't use my Xbox for months because it had a red ring of death on it! So, what went wrong? The hard drive, which I was completely unaware of. I paid $100 or more for a high-end one from Best Buy. Still, I was having the same problems, so I had to play games without saving them. In terms of the hard drive, I went to Amazon and bought this one. It worked, and there was no red ring of death. What's more, I was able to install games while reducing the risk of getting red ring. As a 13-year-old boy who adored Halo, I am overjoyed.
I don't usually write reviews, but this product seemed to me to be deceptive. This product appears to be being sold by Microsoft at the top of the page. This is a complete fabrication. Although it saves xbox360 data, it does not save or even recognize anything from a xbox original disk. Fortunately, I did not lose any of my saved data, and most everything transferred and saved to the hard drive. The problem was that while it saves xbox360 data, it does not save or even recognize anything from a xbox original disk. I lost all of my saved xbox original games, and in order to play an xbox original game, I had to replace the hard drive with an old hard drive. This is absolutely revolting.
After seven months of using an extendable laptop hard drive, I was in the market for a new 360 hard drive. So I come on here and find this product, believing it to be a "real" product, as the advertisement claims. So, after my mother pays for the item plus shipping and handling, and I receive it, I discover she was duped. Don't waste your money on this product; I'm getting a real hard dive later, but for now, I'm using it. My recommendation is to purchase a genuine hard drive from a store to ensure that you are getting the genuine article. Product advertisements on the internet have the potential to be deceiving.
This hard disk performs as expected. I used a 16GB flash drive that I had formatted to transfer all of my data when I first got it. Everything was fine after I transferred all of my data until I tried to play a new game and kept getting a formating error that said the HD was empty. So I reinstalled the game that was in the drive when I transferred my data, and it's been working fine ever since (with various games). I'm very happy with my purchase and believe I got a good deal.
Is there anything else that needs to be done to make this work, or is it already dead? If I can't get this to work TODAY, it will be returned the next day! So far, it hasn't been a good birthday present for my daughter.
br>The unit snaps in easily and starts working right away. Since my kids have been pounding on it, it hasn't had any problems. )br>Yes, the unit appears to have 106 Gigabytes of storage, but that's most likely due to harddrive formatting. In any case, it's a fantastic deal. br>Don't feed the Microsoft monster by buying disk space at exorbitant prices. This strategy is effective.
No, this isn't a great deal on OEM equipment; instead, it's an aftermarket product. knock on the market off. Don't be fooled by the labels, particularly the one at the top that says "by Microsoft. " It's the phrase "by Microsoft" that irritates me the most. As a result, I gave it one star. br>br>As well, this hard drive will not work on a 360 Slim. The new XBOX 360 with Kinect package is the SLIM model, which requires an internal hard drive rather than the external click-and-play drive. on type. If these issues don't bother or affect you, then go ahead and do it.
