Questions & Answers

Is this compatible with the add-on gear shifter and will it fit the Deluxe racing stand?

Yes, just make sure you choose the right model for your 300RS. This is essentially a T300RS with a better steering wheel and pedals that you don't have to sell on Ebay.

I have this set and am curious as to what size/thread bolts I'll need to mount it. ?

Mounting this wheel will be aided by M6 bolts.

What is the warranty on this item from the manufacturer?

A year has passed. My, on the other hand, fell apart after only a month. Save your box because it will have to be shipped back to them, and it will take two months for them to fix it and return it. Instead, I purchased a Logitech Wheel, which I have used for over a year and can drive for up to 4 hours straight. At this point, my thrust master is in another room; why return to use something that will break again?

Is there a version for the Xbox?

The Thrustmaster TX Series of wheels are a similar version of this racing wheel for XBOX. These are Microsoft-licensed and work with the Xbox One, XBOX Series X/S, and Windows.

The wheel is fantastic
5/5

I'm a racing fan who needed a replacement for my g25 steering wheel, which had broken down. I liked the g25 a lot, and even though mine died after 6 years of heavy use, it was good enough for me to consider sticking with Logitech. It's a good thing I didn't because I'm glad I didn't. I saw the Thrustmaster 300RS GT on sale one day and bought it right away. In the world of beaters, the 300RS GT is a Cadillac. 1080 degrees of motion, excellent peripherals (Yes, get the TH8A; you will not be disappointed. ) ), the force feedback is authentic, and the wheel movement is smooth. Some people complained that the pedals were not good enough. . . but after 5 months of heavy use, they are fantastic. . . and to make matters even better, while my G25 looked and felt like a toy, this one looks and feels like the real thing.
Pros:
- br>Extremely broad range of motionbr> Construction is sturdybr>- Getting the most bang for your buckbr>- There are a number of different enhancing peripherals to choose from.
Cons:
- Although this is not necessarily a disadvantage, the paddles rotate with the steering wheel, and while some cars have this feature, I prefer static paddles. It did not receive a star because it excels in all areas, and this is more of a preference than a failure. br>Other considerations:
- There is a lot of force feedback. If you plan on running it for hours at the time at the time at the time at the time at the time at the time at the time at the time, I strongly recommend dropping If you know what I mean, 20 minutes feel like an hour when you run at a 100%. Two thumbs up for highly recommended.

I'd give it a 4 out of 5
5/5

69 stars out of a possible five. But because I can't, I'll give it a five-star rating. No, there are four of them. It's five, not four. I bought it to use with iRacing and Project Cars on my PC, and I'm very pleased with it- Granted, Amazon's mysterious price fluctuations helped me get a great deal. br>br>The package is delivered in a discrete outer carton. Apart from shipping labels and tamper seals, the only markings are some small print that reads "T300 GT US. " It appears to be supplied by Thrustmaster. The inner box arrived in good condition, with only minor wrinkling around one corner, which is to be expected with a box of this size and weight being shipped. br>br>Using the steering wheel and pedals for the first time reminds you that this isn't a plug-and-play situation. Connect the pedals to the wheel, the wheel USB to the PC, and plug into power once everything is in place. Thrustmaster is the next person to help. com, choose your wheel, and then download and install the appropriate driver. You'll have a Thrustmaster folder in your start menu where you can update the firmware, access a control panel, and test the functionality after it's been installed. br>br>I was having a problem with the wheel being off center by about 20 degrees no matter how many times I calibrated it. This is the first question addressed in the Thrustmaster FAQ section for this model, and it is simple to resolve. The Wheel. br>br> br>The wheel attaches to the base using a "quick-mount" system. reposition" mount A cross-shaped lug that is keyed to align the S-shaped lug to the base. Connector in the video style. You tighten the wheel to the base with a collar, and then lock everything in place with a screw at the 6 o'clock position. You only need to lightly tighten that screw because it has very little feel. Any amount of force would crack the collar or, at the very least, strip it out. There has to be a better way, Thrustmaster! br>br>The base has an interesting table clamp that I did not use. I used two M6 bolts to secure my hard mount using the two mounting holes on the underside. which are not included in the package Thrustmaster advises against threading your mounting hardware into the base any deeper than 12mm. It's impossible to include the correct length hardware without knowing how thick your mount is. For a buck, I got two bolts. A hardware store gave me $55 for my birthday. br>br>The wheel is 11" in diameter on the outside. The wheel has a molded hard rubber surface with simulated perforations, which is smaller than I had hoped for but adequate. It's very grippy, but the mold seam running around the center of the inner circumference is something I really don't like. During a longer race, the mold seam in the upper corner of the horizontal spokes irritates the inside of your thumb. The polished blue wheel is my final minor niggle. The center marker at 12 o'clock is very reflective, which can be bothersome. It would be so much nicer if the ring had a matte finish. br>br>The layout of the buttons is ideal for driving; Except for the L2, R2, everything can be reached with just a slight shift in grip (at least for me). The shift paddles are simple to use and do not require a change of grip. They're 5 1/8" long, made of metal, and follow the wheel perfectly. The paddles have a hollow, plasticky click to them that I can hear, but not with headphones. They come to a halt on a thin rubber bumper strip, which provides a pleasant sensation. There is a built-in cooling fan that turns on at some point. br>br> Because I wear headphones, I never know when, but after a race, with no ambient noise, you can barely hear the fan. It's very quiet, and hearing it requires concentration. It's not a major issue. br>Due to the belt drive, this wheel is a pleasure to drive. In operation, it is extremely smooth and quiet. The Pedals: br>br> br>The pedals have two mounting holes that require M6 screws, just like the wheel base. These, like the wheel base, will have to be purchased separately. According to Thrustmaster, no more than 10mm of thread should be inserted into the pedal base. The pedal set's base measures 15 1/8" by 13 1/8" and the pedals stand 8" tall at their highest point. br>br>On this GT version, I particularly like the pedal covers. If you're driving in racing socks, you'll notice the edges of the pedal covers, which serve as a reminder to keep your foot closer to the pedal. They aren't even close to being sharp- It's just a thought. I like that the covers can be moved around, but I don't like that the brake pedal isn't drilled to allow for repositioning. The brake pedal, on the other hand, is quite large, which compensates for this. Because I rarely use the clutch, I set the pedals slightly to the left to center the throttle and brake pedals for two-foot driving. br>br>Each pedal has a block sandwiched between the pedal and the floor that can be rotated 180 degrees to adjust the pedal angle. A conical rubber stop is included as well. It can be used with any of the three pedals, but it's intended to make the brake pedal feel more realistic, which it does. The brake pedal has about 1/2" of linear travel before it contacts the rubber cone, then another 3/8" of progressively heavier travel until it stops with the rubber cone installed. This pedal mod adds more feel for those times when you need to do some panic braking without completely locking up the vehicle. br>br>In conclusion, I believe that this set represents excellent value, especially considering that the previous T300RS came with only the Throttle/Brake pedal setup for the same price as this GT Version. The wheel base is, in my opinion, the package's star. Its smooth and quiet operation adds to the enjoyment of racing games, errr simulations. The rubber wheel is a bit of a letdown, but you can replace it with one of Thrustmaster's other options. The pedals do their job well and are pleasant to use while driving. The rubber cone on the brake pedal makes it extremely comfortable to use. br>br>Overall, I'm pleased with this setup right out of the box, and I'd rate it a 4. 69 stars out of a possible five. But because I can't, I'll give it a five-star rating. ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** 7/28/2017br>After 25-30 hours of use, I'm getting more and more enjoyment out of it. br>br>I was bothered by the seam on the wheel's inner circumference. After two minutes with a small, fine file, I was able to remove the seam and create a nice smooth surface for my thumbs to rest on, which looks perfect after wiping down with a multi-surface cleaner. Currently, there is a problem. br>br>After about ten hours of use (a few days), a squeaking noise could be heard coming from the belts. The wheel would squeak if you turned it a few degrees or moved it back and forth slowly. Even with headphones on, I was able to hear it. It wasn't a particularly loud sound, but it was distinct. The squeaking stopped after a few more hours of use, and it hasn't come back. br>br>I'm still unconcerned about the fan noise. The base barely warms up with the FFB set to prevent clipping, and the fan is barely audible unless you concentrate on it in a quiet room. br>br>One thing I don't like about the fan is that it doesn't seem to turn off unless the power to the base is disconnected. The red light on the base turns off when I shut down my PC, but the fan continues to run at a very low rpm. Only if your ear is close to the base can you hear it. Because of the sound it makes when I unplug the base, I believe it's the fan. It doesn't come to a halt; rather, it appears to be winding down. It's not a big deal; when I'm finished, I simply unplug the power. The horn isn't a working button. br>br> More buttons are nice to have if they're well placed, so I was disappointed that the horn couldn't be programmed. br>br>I'm still having a good time with the T300GT. I like how the paddle shifters feel, how smooth and quiet the steering is, and how much I like the conical brake mod that came with it. br>br>************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************ 8/5/2017br>The constant fan is due to the fact that "Forced Cooling Mode" is turned on. It's possible to turn it off, but I'm not going to. This wheel's instructions and explanation can be found in the Thrustmaster FAQ. br>br>************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** This is still a fantastic setup, and I enjoy using it, but the squeak from the belts appears and disappears every few days. I could send it in based on what I've read online, but the replacement will most likely do the same thing. Also, since new, there has been a slight odor that smells like hot electronics. I don't run it very hot; the base barely warms up, and I don't use a lot of FFB. br>br>******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** After my first 20-minute period, there was a squeak. It was only for a few hours and then it was gone. There was a sweltering atmosphere in the room. After about 30-minutes, the electronics start to smell. That vanished after a few hours or so. I replaced the wheel with a Sparco R383 and the pedals with Fanatec load cell pedals during my first year of use and haven't looked back since. I liked the base system, but I needed a bigger wheel and a load-bearing system. pedals for your cell phone So, I swapped the wheel and pedals sometime in 2018, but the steering wheel base is still going strong after nearly four years, and I have no desire to replace it. Returning to a perfect 5!.

Until it stops working, it's incredible
3/5

This was purchased to replace a Logitech MOMO racing wheel that had been in my possession for over 20 years. I loaded up Project Cars 2 and gave it a shot after finally getting the drivers (the Thrustmasters site was down for some reason) and installing everything. The wheel was extremely effective. The force feedback is extremely strong, and I was finally able to feel everything from the bumpy curbs to the tires losing grip. The pedals performed admirably as well. They're quite large and made of metal. They come with a brake mod that increases the force required to apply the brakes, which you can install if you want. In comparison to the Logitech MOMO, one disadvantage of the pedals is that they slide around on the carpet. To keep them from sliding off when I hit the brakes, I had to put a lot of weight behind them. The clamp that holds the wheel in place is extremely finicky, and it pales in comparison to the Logitech MOMO. The MOMO was securely held in place by three claps on each side of the wheel. This has a single large U-shaped clamp underneath it that you tighten. The issue is that you are turning the wheel back and forth as you race. This twists and binds the bolt that goes through the clamp, making it impossible to loosen. To free the wheel, I had to pry it off my desk, and then I could loosen the clamp. There's also a cooling fan that activates when you use the wheel for a short period of time; it's not too loud, but it's noticeable. However, the wheel's overall construction quality is excellent. The wheel is substantial and well-made. br>br>So, why two stars? The wheel began to act erratically after about 15 days of use (maybe an hour or less per day). All of a sudden, it would lock up and refuse to turn. Then everything would return to normal, except it would feel extremely grinding, as if gears were rubbing against each other. Then it'd turn and lock all over again. When this happened, it would hum very loudly. I also tried a few different games (American Truck Simulator, Project Cars 2, and iRacing), but they all had the same problem. If I unplug it and then plug it back in, will it work? When I plugged it in, it tried to auto-calibrate but only turned one way, making it sound like the motor was trying to keep going. The cooling fan would turn on as it hummed furiously. I went online and fixed the bootloader and updated all of the firmware and software, but it still locked up and hummed. It's a shame because the wheel was fantastic when it worked, but I only had it for about 15 days! And only for a couple of hours! How can something so costly perform so badly? Thrustmaster is defined as "passion, quality, and performance," according to the box. I believe the word "Quality" should be removed from the title; it is extremely disappointing. I'm returning it to Amazon and replacing it with the Logitech G29 shifter. br>br>I'd take the advice of the other reviewers on this site. This thing's quality is just not there, which is a shame, but given the high price, you should probably look for something else.
