Forza 7 and Horizon 3 are the only games I use with Xbox One X. In anticipation of Horizon 4, I'm looking forward to it. It might be best to adjust the steering radius in the advanced menu settings in both games from 900 to 360 if you plan to use these features similarly. I was less than thrilled when I saw the massive dead zone before I purchased, nearly making me regret my decision. It was kind of dumb on my part to forget that these devices need some adjustments to work correctly. You can adjust from 900 turn radius to 360 any time in the menu and you'll be done within 10 seconds. In the short time it took to adjust from control pad to wheel, I actually shaved much time then what I would have used with the gamepad (Xbox elite). I play with all assists off and the AI on It takes a little time to retrain yourself how to turn in and brake points, but after that it's just a breeze.
Thrustmaster Tech Support is awful. The force feedback had completely stopped working, and the company's tech support was no more. It's 2019 and we have Amazon. That's good news to us! Instead of spending hours on Byzantine troubleshooting that snarky tech support guy emails you, it's easier to just get a refund. We live far too short a life to neglect our products. Our products deserve better support. This means we are ditching Thrustmaster for other hardware (permanently), and moving to.
My passion for racing games extends back to Forza. I'm a longtime Forza fan. As a result of listening to the Logitech vs Thrustmaster banter for years, I decided to go with TMX. If I want to learn clutching, I can invest in pro pedals I will be able to add a shifter as I will be able to take my hands off the wheels while shifting. The old-fashioned arcade games like LA Rush or Cruisin USA/World never interested me nor did I buy or use a wheel then. Although the wheel looks to be made of cheap plastic, it is made of excellent quality plastic that will not bend or bend under intense action on track while you "swat flies". Knowing what feels good to you on the wheel is crucial to learning how to use it. For those who would like access to sim racing or for those who are just looking for total immersion, this could be the wheel for you. You will have to upgrade your chair and stand and this wheel will last you until then. Having played many PC games over the course of the last 100 hours, I have clocked roughly 100 hours before this review. As a result, I played iRacing, PCARS2, Wreckfest before and after the major PC update, Dirt Rally, NASCAR Heat 4, and even took it to Xbox One to test out There is no need to install anything. Right out of the box, this works perfectly with the Xbox One. The only game I have played so far is Dirt Rally, but it is so much fun that it makes me look forward to gaming. With this wheel and the force feedback, I'm seeing a lot more than I did with my last generation. Experience is important. Besides the Ultimate Steering Wheel Racing Game Stand, I also purchased "The Ultimate Steering Wheel Racing Game Stand" and I am also pleased with this purchase. Although I am unsure as to what makes the other force feedback wheels so much more expensive, I think this wheel is perfect for my family and me. Although I am not a hardcore sim racing fan, I really enjoy how this wheel feels, as I can really feel what it is like to race. Playing Dirt Rally on the Xbox One is a great experience, and having a wheel is crucial. The wheel I have is perfect for this game.
Shifts are made easier thanks to the paddles. My first wheel is a race sim I've been playing for a very long time. With this wheel you can play any items that work with the Xbox One. I have Forza 7, so I can play just about anything. Fortunately, the bottom of the pedals have rubber pads, so if you have an uncarpeted floor you just need to make sure the pads are clean and the floor is as well, and everything is fine. The paddle shifting is really impressive, and the force feedback really makes the game feel pretty amazing. By switching from the hand controller to this wheel, it will allow you to make the small adjustments necessary for your race line to be perfect. I found it so frustrating to just make a slight correction to load the line from one side to another of the road or the other way around and either have to make a jerky move that would lower speed, or maybe have to take the inside line and probably end up braking too much. It is just so much better this way. Honestly, I think the feedback really isn't as smooth as you would get from a car. This one, however, I will continue to buy over and over again. It is easy to set up, easy to take down, and you can use it to enter and exit the game, as well as navigate within it. I am absolutely blown away. The only thing I would change is to make the USB cable longer, since I don't have my Xbox in front of me every time. In order to determine if the USB cable needs an extension, I'm going to try using one.
