This is a great product for children 12 months and older up to about 3 or 4 years old.
The Melissa and Doug wooden puzzle I have is sturdy, and the toys that I have personally tried from their line were sturdy.
Thank you for asking about our Hide and Seek Farm Activity Board. Unfortunately, we do not sell replacement pieces for this activity board. Best wishes, *br>Your Friends at Melissa & Doug. A DOG
It can be used upright with an easel or stand as long as you prop it up. The magnetic closures allow the pieces to remain inside the doors. Its doors swing open when you stand it up, but the pieces remain inside and need to be removed.

I get a lot of joy out of seeing them open/close the doors and solve the puzzle. In addition to using it as an entertaining toy, it has been perfect for practising animal sounds and vocabulary, following instructions (put in/take out/open/close), and just for fun. Due to the fact that this item was very helpful in my treatment, i felt compelled to leave a review. This is a highly recommended product!.
Several months ago, when we got it, it was a big hit with my almost 2-year-old. In spite of this, older reviews are right that sometimes pieces can get caught under the lip and frustrate small ones. (A life lesson nevertheless! 1) The most disappointing feature of the music is the QUALITY, or the lack of it. How do you describe the A large, shallow crack was visible in the middle of the There is wear along all of the edges. My son might be a toddler, but this is not what I would expect for the price from Melissa and Doug. Sad because he still plays with it all the time, but the horse is missing (because he's at risk of breaking in half) and the edges are all worn.
A lot of my favorite Melissa and Doug products are Melissa and Doug. As a pediatric speech therapist, I am always seeking appropriate toys for my patients. This excited me when I saw the reviews and saw the pictures. I was disappointed, however, when I received it. Having the opportunity to open doors is very appealing to toddlers. There is no way to empty the little compartment of magnetic animals, though. However, the interior of the compartment has barriers at the corners and a lip on the edge, so the animal inside slides under the lip and is difficult to grasp (how it is constructed) and even I have trouble getting my fingers inside and grasping the animal inside to take A difficult task. The majority, but not all, of the kids lost interest when it became difficult.
I have not had an issue with the gift itself, only that the kids lost all the pieces so quickly. When they did have all the pieces, they had fun playing with it, and I enjoyed the quality as well. I am Melissa and I am Toys made by Doug are the best! I think it should go without saying, but I ask that you watch your kids and make sure they don't get hurt when they play Despite the fact that it doesn't look like they can swallow a piece, kids have several tricks up their sleeves.
In a nutshell, As soon as my almost 8 month old learned to manipulate a wooden peg popping toy, she began to master this puzzle. It was difficult and frustrating for her in the first few weeks, but she remained engaged by the challenge. After mastering removing the magnetic pieces, she then put them back in place. In my video you can see that they tend to get stuck in the front frame so I have to help her adjust them so she can pull them out. (Try looking at my video to see what I mean). By 9 months, she was able to open the hinges and close the door on her own. Now I am challenging her to open the ones with specific animals and ask, "Where is the pig?"? It's usually the right one for her. Whenever she opens the door, I make the animal sounds for her and she loves it. If your child is not yet ready to master the lock puzzles but has enough hand dexterity or interest to do more than shake and inspect toys, this is the perfect toy for them. *The only downside is that the paper print on the magnetic pieces is starting to wear on the edges. Mainly because my baby still mouths it, so I try to keep it out of her mouth, but there are still a few spots that get damaged. You can see a picture of it here.
We will continue to play and engage in this game as we discover new ways to interact with it for a few years, I expect.
Even though he was a little young for it at the time, he was still very excited! As his fine motor skills improve, he gets more confident pulling the animals out- he loves finding them hiding behind the doors and making the sounds for them. He loves finding the little animals hiding behind the doors. It's a great workout for little hands to do those magnets! This is a great toy for kids - all ages (Chicken, sheep, cats, goats, horses, and cows are the magnet pieces rabbit, pig, and sheep are the magnets. There are also a fox, squirrel, spider, bird, mouse, goose, butterfly, worm, dog, and caterpillar on the board)
- I know the vocabulary (above, behind, under, beneath, open, close)- Learning language skills (lots of opportunities to talk about where the animals are and what they are doing)* Developing fine motor skills (opening and closing the doors, pulling out the magnet animals, putting them back in)
RECOMMENDED AGE 3-5 YEARS For children 1 year of age and older Toy should be kept under close supervision due to small magnets and small parts (manufacturer age recommendation is actually higher because of potential safety risks, however you can enjoy this toy much earlier under Ideally, you should put the toy away when not in use and supervise your child while also playing with it)

During this M&A you will see two things The products we have purchased/asked for in the past have not even come close to meeting the standards that they used to meet. As you can see in the pictures, I hope you can see. There is a close fit between the animals and While you slide them from the side of the pocket the lower part of the pocket has raised edges so that the animals get stuck beneath and cannot be easily removed by little fingers. It is easier for your fingers to grasp when your hands are bigger, because you don't have enough room to position them without wedges. I am very.
The magnets do wear out after a while, which is why I replaced it after two of my children had it for years. However, nothing ever I always bring this along when I'm going for a drive and need to prepare my meals. You should definitely take the time to check it out!.
