I bought this as a present for my daughter's 7th birthday and it turned out to be one of her favorites. Drawing stuffies and practicing her cursive with it, she had been using it to practice her cursive. In the photo, the board is rainbow colored, but it actually has multicolored boards. It's great to see them drawing, but leaving so much paper around causes us to start a fire. We found a drawing tablet that's LCD and filled it up with paper. This sounded like a great solution to me. The first two were delivered today, and the second one arrived tomorrow. It's great from the get-go! It is light, comes with a bungee cord, and it attaches to a computer keyboard The devices are powered by a CR2032 battery (an extra battery is included in the package). Erasing the screen is done by simply pressing one button. The only time the power is on is to erase - this will save battery life - To draw, you do not need to turn on the computer. It will be interesting to see how durable this can be in the coming weeks, but it looks like a lot of fun for the kids. There should be a hole on the other side to attach the stylus to. The things I like so much! In years to come, we will still make use of them. When I bought the "mloong" brand for my son, I then wanted to buy a few more for the kids at the babysitters so they wouldn't fight over them! The "derabika" brand ended up being the brand I went with when I ordered more since they had more colors available to choose from. Typically, kids between the ages of 18 months and 5 years enjoy playing with it The youngest children she watches are 6 years old (she doesn't watch any older kids, so I can't speak about older kids, but I'm sure it would be suitable for older children. It took me a little longer with the derabika brand than the mloong brand, but I must say that it was much more convenient to attach the pen to this brand. For two tablets, I was able to attach the pen/string without using any special tools in less than 15 minutes. The pen managed to only be attached to one long brand tablet after taking me an hour to attempt it with several tools (needles, paperclips, earrings). Mloong may have been the victim of a weird fluke - who knows I am only stating my personal experiences with them.
