She is really into identifying letters and learning the ABCs right now, so I bought her this for Christmas. I thought this would be a fun and instructional way for her to learn how to draw letters by herself. Since she often asks me to draw letters, I thought this would be a fun and educational activity. It is the most wonderful thing in the world to her. As she follows along with the stylus, she says each letter. The idea of using a pencil grip is proving quite helpful to her, and soon she will be able to start writing letters on paper as well. She has a lot of experience identifying uppercase letters, so it's amazing that this has a side for her to practice lowercase letters I am confident that this will be a good step towards early reading for my daughter, who has been able to make good progress in her language development so far. As expected, the board is made of high-quality wood, and it is heavier than expected (though it is still light enough for her to carry). A very thorough job has been done as well, with no rough edges, nicely finished, and a perfect fit. I am pleased to see each letter engraved neatly. It's the right size for her it's big enough now for her to hold it will still be enough for her I appreciate the effort that went into including the groove for the stylus. I haven't had the chance to test the durability yet, but based on the quality of the case, I assume that it will withstand drops just fine and that spills will be clean It is a product I would highly recommend.
It is of great quality and my 3 year old is in love with Our school does not exclusively practice Montessori, however we still find this to be a great tool to help kids learn basic motor skills like holding a pen and familiarizing themselves.
The board's performance with my 7-month old was great, and I wouldn't be surprised if it holds up in a couple of years with her. I can trace the letters on the board perfectly since the letters are of a size that is convenient While he doesn't quite understand how to hold the pencil, he still traces the letter in the correct way. I have seen him use this at least six times since we got it yesterday. He pulled it off his shelf as soon as he woke up today!.
In addition to using it for tracing, we use it to match cubed beads with letters. It is also a joy for her to trace with the wooden stylet as it strengthens her finger muscles. She sort the letters then places them above the matching letters on the board. Small hands will love it. In the end it seemed to make more sense to attach the stylet to the board with a ribbon * it requires only drilling a hole in the corner of the board and at the top of the stylet, then affixing it.
It is well made and the inside of the letters are smooth. I am very satisfied with the product. I will be purchasing another as a gift for Christmas!.
I ordered it for my preschool students so they could practice. My daughter started using it right away and she loves it! Despite being smooth to the touch, the wood and cut out areas feel hard There is a high level of quality in this object. A family heirloom that can be handed down for generations to come.
The product is very nice however, it arrived damaged, with the tip left corner beating off and splintering out (too harsh to be used by a child). The piece will be sanded and adjusted so that it works. I'm sorry to hear that. There was no bubble wrap on this slab of wood, but it is a pretty heavy item.
This is a gift my grandsons received from me. It was important for me to have something I wouldn't lose pieces of. You also get a wooden stick to use as a pencil with it. The writing mats are solid pieces of wood with grooves to trace letters, so if they get lost a finger, a stick, or a pencil will do just fine. The pieces are sturdy, and it is one nice piece of wood. This is a very good product to me.
