Some of the numbers and direction arrows are not accurate in teaching letter writing. Before allowing my child to practice on it, I used nail polish remover and wrote in the correct prompts. However, due to the way the board was cut, a couple of the letters prevent the stylus from flowing into the next step without lifting it off the board. Although the production errors are inconvenient for teaching, the handwriting tool is still a great idea. Perhaps the creator could come up with a sequel. Is there a version 0? Update?.
It's a little difficult to actually trace the letters because some of them are quite awkward, but overall, it's a good product with a poor execution. br>Recent changes: They got in touch with me after reading my review and wanted to know what I thought about it. They only gave me a portion of my money back.
We needed a bigger board with bigger letters but since we're trying to get them to write we're staying on top of them with this one so if you have a kindergartener or soon will be this is good for them.
This is fantastic for my students who are still learning how to form letters. I'm only concerned because both the t and y have tails, which I teach as a straight line, and both the j and q require a slightly deeper curve. Regrettably, incorrect letter formation has become all too common.
For the price, I expected it to be larger; it was so small that the pencil easily fell out of its place. This is not a toy; the goal is for your kids to learn to write. I'm thinking about returning it because I don't see the point of something so small and with a stylus that could be easily misplaced.
I like that we can easily transport it with us. It's not particularly heavy, but it's also not paper thin, so it won't break if they get angry (as my daughter did) and throw it down. I also like how it has arrows to guide the kids through the steps for each letter. Because of the size, my recently turned 3-year-old has already begun to adjust her grip on the writing tool into proper form, and she's only been using it for a week. My only criticism is that the groves on a few of the letters have raised bumps. I'm not sure if the excess clear coat was not properly removed or if the surface was not properly sanded before coating it, but there are a few letters like this. My daughter is annoyed by these because her pencil gets stuck in the groves and causes her to lose her place. Nonetheless, I intend to purchase more for my other nephews because I believe they are excellent practice and save a lot of paper for when the real writing process begins. When a real pencil is put to paper, this tool appears to be assisting in the development of a number of important writing skills. At least, that's what I'm hoping for. I'm also going to try to figure out a way to fix the humps.
These are a great idea for teaching kids to write, but the size is a problem. This should've been about a half-inch bigger. If you're using these, it's probably because your child or someone you know has spatial issues or lacks fine motor skills or strength. As a result, this is far too small. If you're buying for those reasons, go for a bigger size.
This is a small item that is disappointing due to the misleading picture. This is a tiny item that isn't worth the money; it's cheap, cheap, cheap! The third disappointment was a gift I bought for my three-year-old son's Christmas from Amazon.
