I have to wait a week for this thing to arrive, which isn't unusual. When I unboxed it, I discovered that no tools are required, which I initially mistook for a benefit when it is actually a disadvantage. I put this thing together in under 10 minutes, and I made sure the "adhesive" (I have my doubts about the quality of said adhesive) was tight and snug on both levels, despite the top one coming loose, but I figured "Hey, I'll just put the record player on top so it'll help keep it down," which I couldn't even try. I was carrying this thing from the bottom as instructed, carefully backing it into my room, when it suddenly collapsed into my hands. No, it didn't collide with anything, and it didn't fall out of my hand. It was blown to bits. It's all by itself It came from my grasp. Do not purchase this product because it is unstable and may be a scam. It's better to get a real wood shelf with the same measurements. This product is not designed to hold a record player and records; even if it did, it would not be able to withstand the weight. I'm not some Urban Outfitters snob with one Foster The People record; I'm a true record aficionado. DO if you're in the same boat, or even if you're not in a boat at all. NOT. BUY. AT ALL. This is a ruse.
It's unfathomable that any company would produce such a flimsy product. The material is a very light mdf (possibly ldf) that isn't bad in and of itself. The amazing part is that it's all held together by wood pegs and double-sided tape. tape that is double-sided There are no screws, clasps, or any other type of hardware. To put it another way, it isn't even held together. They didn't even have the decency to make it foam tape; instead, they just used regular thin plastic that doesn't conform to the wood's ripples and thus does nothing. If you want to see it, look at the photo I attached. Because I knew I wouldn't be able to pick it up, I had to slide it over to where it was going to sit. Apart from that, none of the sides are aligned properly (which isn't surprising). Needless to say, I'm going to replace it right away. I'll also contact Amazon to see if I can get the product or company taken off the market.
Grade: C (on its own)br>br>This shelf unit is subpar right out of the box, but with a little extra work, it can easily be transformed into a high-quality vinyl case - Continue reading below for more information. br>br>As a result, everything I read in the reviews told me not to buy this device. Material was poor, the design was poor, and there were no instructions. When compared to purchasing parts and assembling a unit yourself, this is a much more cost-effective option. Knowing that this is essentially particle board held together with dowels and double-sided tape - As an afterthought, I bought some wood glue. Instead of taping together cheap wood pieces (yes, that's what came in the box), I used wood glue, which creates a stronger bond than most wood grain. If you buy the set, I strongly advise you to do this. It'll set you back about $3 more, but after a month of use, you won't be throwing it away. I'm hoping the manufacturer reads this and updates the product, because it could be so much better. TLDR: TLDR: TLDR: TLDR: TLDR: TLDR: TLDR: TLDR The material is of good quality, but the assembly guide and method are truly stupid, earning it a C on their own. Purchase wood glue to extend the life of your project.
They crumbled completely when picked up, as expected! I'm now out nearly $150 for the pair and have no place to store my vinyl. AN EXCESSIVE WASTE OF MONEY! br>br>If I had paid $5 for these, I might have gotten what I paid for, but at $70, I didn't get what I paid for. This corporation should be ashamed of itself! br>br>Charging such a high price for such a worthless product feels legitimately deceptive!.
Don't throw your money away! Update: I attempted to return this item via Amazon, but my request was forwarded to OJCommerce, the manufacturer. I wasn't given the option of getting a refund, but I was told I'd get a replacement instead. That was a few weeks ago, and I still haven't heard anything. I strongly advise you not to purchase this or any other product from this firm. br>br>These LP storage cubes are light and attractive, but not particularly sturdy. They'll fall apart if you don't carry them correctly, or if the albums in the crates move around a lot (which they will). This is a product that I do not recommend.
I was skeptical based on the reviews, but I went ahead and purchased it anyway. It was the exact size I needed, and the only other ones I could find were 200 dollars or more (which seemed ridiculously expensive). I bought this and used some wood glue as recommended by most people, and it turned out perfectly; I'm not sure what all the people who say it fell apart are talking about. If you do it right, it'll be nearly impossible to fall apart. I currently have about 40 records (I've only recently begun my collection), but I intend to fill it, as well as the record player on top. It appears to be capable of completing the task.
I bought this for my husband, and if I had seen it before he assembled it, I would have returned it right away. It's made of foam core and has no resemblance to wood. The seams and corners where the edges don't quite meet can be seen. At most, this should cost $25.
It looks nice, but it's mostly made of cardboard, and it's not worth the money.
