Amazon Basics Kids Bookcase with Reading Nook and Storage Shelves - Espresso

Beware of IKEA! The quality of this shelf has blown me away. The hardware is nice and sturdy, the instructions are in multiple languages and are very clear with detailed pictures, and the packaging was well designed to ensure that the shelf arrived in perfect condition. The quality of the wood, however, astounded me the most. I had no idea it would be constructed entirely of solid wood! When I opened the box and looked at the details of the wood grain on the coffee color finish, I had to inspect it again, this time even more closely, but it is not made of plywood, as many low-cost furnitures are. At this price, I believe it is an excellent purchase. I used an electric screwdriver for the screws and a manual screwdriver for the twist quick attachment parts, and it took me just under 20 minutes to put it together. I was able to easily follow the instructions booklet (which was initially difficult to locate because it was on the opposite side of the one with which I opened the box). I thought it was cool that they had a clever little red string on the small hardware box sticking out of the main box to ensure you didn't throw it away by accident. br>Because the seating area is so small, this is primarily aimed at children. We decided to remove the side pads and only use the bottom one to sit on because they were difficult to keep in place. When completed, the unit looks great, all of the parts are perfectly aligned, and it is extremely sturdy. We purchased a kitchen set from them, which was made of thin fiber board/mdf plywood and was extremely flimsy and fell apart almost immediately. br>br>This bookcase was made of solid wood and was both light and sturdy. They come with hardware that can be bolted to the wall to keep it from tipping over. Everything was well-fitting and well-protected in its packaging. The instructions were fairly straightforward, and everything was properly labeled. My only minor quibble was that one of the backs' bead board sticker was extremely difficult to remove, causing the finish to tear. But it didn't really matter because the books covered everything. Overall, this was a fantastic purchase at a great price.

For our 19-month-old son, we bought this tiny book shelf. We absolutely adore it! It's not only the right size for him (he's just under 3 feet tall right now), but there's also room for him to grow. His collection of over 45 books (and counting), including large board books, can be stored on the shelf. We're not sure why so many people are complaining about how small it is. Before you buy something, you should check the specifications and measurements to make sure it will fit in your house. The maximum weight capacity is 150 pounds (enough for a small adult to sit on). Everything was labeled (super organized), so putting it together was a breeze. A long and short screwdriver are required (due to space constraints). When you first get it out of the box, the foam padding has a slight odor, but it goes away after a night of airing out (just like the foam mattress you might order). The cushion covers were also washed. Because, you know, we wash everything before our child (and covid) touches it. The cushions are also loose and unattached to the shelf, which could be easily fixed with sticky velco, but we prefer it this way. Our son likes to remove the cushion and use it as a seat on the floor in front of the shelf so that he can choose the next book he wants to read at his leisure. We had been keeping an eye on this item for a while and decided to purchase it when the price fell below $90.

It was purchased so that my cat could get on and off of my bed. I also had a stack of books on the floor that needed to be moved. It's perfect for both of those purposes. The bookcase is a bit wobbly. It's possible that I didn't properly tighten the screws. However, if it were to be used for a child, it would be a different story. They'd have to secure it to the wall or whatever they're mounting it to, but I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

I had to double-check that I had the right piece because two of them were missing their letters. The instructions, on the other hand, were clear and simple to follow. So far as I can tell, it appears to be sturdy enough. The ability to secure against a wall is a nice feature, and Amazon is being very parent-friendly by including that small tool. I wish the cushions were connected in some way so that they could be kept together more easily. I'm going to look for some velcro so I can secure the cushions to the table. Since the release of version 2. A five-year-old will want to move around and throw it in all directions. However, if you take your time assembling it, nothing will strip or break the screws or fasteners. Now I have to put it to the test, but I'm pleased with the result; it's well worth the money.

We just finished setting it up, and it's a lot smaller than we expected. It's strong enough for kids, but it has a weight and age limit, so older children should be avoided. The seating pads were poorly designed because nothing holds them in place; they are three separate pieces that will almost certainly be misplaced by my son. Overall, the finish was similar to that of a separate drawer cabinet we had previously. If I had to buy it again, I wouldn't.

As long as you follow the instructions, it's very simple to put together. It took me no time at all to put it together. On two of the boards, there are scuff marks. One will be hidden by books, while the other will be found at the bottom of a board and will most likely go unnoticed. It appears to be very sturdy, and despite the fact that it comes with hardware for mounting it to the wall, it does not appear to be prone to tipping over. Because the padding is attached, it simply sits on top of the chair as shown. To keep it in place, you may need to screw or tape it to the wood. The color combination is fantastic.
