Yes, the Rustler is a good fit for this.
The esc isn't the one for oba, so you'll have to sodar in the power plug for the oba, but it'll work.
I don't know what the maximum voltage is, but I've been using an 11. Without a hitch, I was able to charge a 1V battery.

I purchased this for my 2WD Slash because I desired a brushless system with a higher top speed. Installation was not too difficult, and this is coming from someone who knows very little about electronics. To get started, just look up some YouTube videos. The hardest part is setting the gear mesh, which Traxxas supports with a separate video. br>br>I immediately set out to see how fast my Slash would run with my new setup after it was installed. The outcome was as follows: a letdown Although acceleration was noticeably faster, top speed remained consistent. I was a little let down. Then, because I was using the stock NIMH battery, I decided to purchase a LIPO battery, and man, does this thing FLY with the LIPO. I'm using a 5000 MAH 3-cell battery right now. It's a cell phone, and this thing is incredible! It is significantly faster, with even shorter run times. Another reviewer with a 2WD Slash said they didn't notice any differences in the motor, but I'm guessing they're still using the stock battery. br>br> I also went with the Traxxas EZ-RC. Peak Dual ID charger for easier charging of LIPOs. The upgrade is not inexpensive. The charger and one LIPO will set you back around $170, which is in addition to the cost of the new motor. Overall, it's a fantastic upgrade, and I couldn't be happier.
When his motor began to make noise, he explained that it could be rebuilt, and I was sold. My truck is much faster off the line now, but top speed is about the same as before, as explained in the description. A different battery would be beneficial, but I don't need to go any faster right now because of the traction issues I'm experiencing. I bought this motor along with a lipo for my son's 1/10 scale slash after buying a Rustler for myself. I thought it would be a good upgrade to bring our vehicles up to par. The Rustler blows the upgraded Slash out of the water. In fact, when I compare the Slash to the stock motor, I don't notice much of a difference. I should have put the money towards getting another Rustler.
WOW is all I have to say. What a riot my Rustler has become as a result of this. I was concerned about the difficulty of installation, but it's actually quite simple. Look no further if you're looking for a great motor upgrade for your Rustler. In retrospect, this was the best purchase I've ever made for my Rustler. If you're on the fence about upgrading, don't be.
It's a night and day difference between a lipo and the amount of drive time you get with a traxxas truck or car, I got a 7. Awesome setup for any traxxas truck or car. With it, I played 2v2s for 45 minutes. If you go up to a 11, however, you'll be fine. 1v 3s I strongly recommend upgrading the axles to MIP axles or trying your luck with the traxxas constant velocity steel spline axles, I snapped a integy aluminum set and somehow vaporized a boot off the traxxas set and lost the pin that holds it together, but it pulls the wheels up on an all aluminum slash and probably does 50 mph on stock gears.
I contacted Amazon and the vendor, but to no avail. So I put the truck in the garage and haven't tried or bought any more parts or batteries. 350 00 invested in the charging system for truck batteries, the temperature control system, and the tires. Not much more money is being invested, and the hobby isn't being enjoyed as much as it could be. The vendors must realize that if they do not provide support, they will not be able to make more money on broken parts. , and now that I don't use it, no one sees it as a viable option for buying their own to forward all the items they could sell to a new buyer. a shame.
Wow. What a stark contrast. It is very simple to upgrade. My Traxxas Slash 2WD had been upgraded. When I was done, all I could think about was how much faster the car had become. It's a simple plug-and-play setup. Don't be apprehensive about giving it a shot.
My 2017 Traxxas Ford Raptor now has a brushless rig installed. Wow, what a sight! I first tested it with a 3000 mAh NiCh battery, and it performed twice as well as before. I then installed a 5000 mAh LiPo and it was insanely fast; I'm currently using the stock spur gear and pinion, which is fantastic. br>After you've installed the VXL- 3 ESC Check that the wire is plugged into CH-. RX 2 is the second in a series of RX's. Due to the high power output of this motor, you should also order a few extra spur gears. I recommend sticking with the Traxxas nylon spur gears because they protect the inner transmission gears from tearing. Spur gears are less expensive and easier to replace than the other gears. Also, the Traxxas cooling fan for the ESC is highly recommended because it greatly aids in heat dissipation. After running my new rig hard for about 30 minutes, I removed the body and used my temperature gun to check the temperature, which was only 109 degrees F.
