Yes! My son sat on the floor to play with them while I worked in the kitchen, so I placed them low on the side of the fridge. For a nine-month-old, this is an excellent purchase.
The entire piece is made up of magnets with paper pictures glued on. At this point, I'd say at least five photos have been removed. Wait a while for these if your child enjoys putting things in his or her mouth.
They don't appear to be painted or printed on the wood, though. They are of excellent quality, and my 17-month-old son adores them!
They don't have much in common. Instead of having her play in front of the refrigerator, I bought a large magnetic bulletin board to hang on the wall. This appears to be keeping her interested in what she's doing.

Magnets are a big hit with our son. I thought it would be fantastic. The pictures are made of a paper-like material that began to rip as soon as he put them in his mouth. We tried giving them a quick rinse, but it aggravated the situation. We've only had them for a few months, but they appear to have been with us for years.
This magnet set was purchased for my 15-month-old daughter, who enjoys accompanying me into the kitchen. While he was sleeping, I opened the package and placed it on the refrigerator for him. He was pleasantly surprised when he awoke! It kept him occupied for about 30 minutes, and now he's running back and forth between the refrigerator and the oven, swapping pieces from each. The pieces appear to be well-made, and the front laminate does not appear to be peeling (crossing my fingers). br>I have a second Melissa. All of Doug's wooden toys have lasted a long time. I would highly recommend this set, and I will most likely purchase some of their other magnet sets in the future.
They're sturdy, and I particularly like the fact that the entire back is magnetized. There are no sharp edges to pick at and tear off for small children. They're also big enough that I don't have to worry about them falling into the hands of the 1-year-old. old. She likes them just as much as her older sister does. This is one toy they won't grow out of for a long time, and the best part is that the magnets will last that long as well.
Doug brand; unfortunately, several magnet pieces in this set were breaking apart; they appear to be made of multiple layers of compressed thin wood/cardboard, perhaps? Between the layers, they were splintering. I returned them and will have to look for a different solution.
While I cook, I place them at the bottom of our refrigerator, and my daughter sits on the floor and plays with them. They are adored by her. The images and colors are both adorable. They've stood up to a lot of chewing and drool. Just be aware that if they get too wet from drool, the paper images may begin to peel. I simply keep an eye on her and take them away to dry if she becomes overly enthusiastic about tasting them. Haha. They occupy her, however, and she enjoys them. The packaging is also very attractive. The small bin will come in handy later for storage. I think you should try it!.
Melissa is one of my favorite artists. Doug, I'm sorry to say that I'm dissatisfied with this purchase. One figure (a cat) was split from the start, while the second (a sheep) was split after three minutes of play. The pictures are simply a piece of paper glued to the wooden piece that can be easily removed. The magnet is very soft, and peeling it off does not take much effort on my little one's part.
I really want to like these because Melissa is one of my favorite actresses. Products made by Doug. That, however, is simply not feasible. Paper images are used to make the magnets. We received an older set, which is not made of paper like the newer designs. If you have a toddler who still puts things in their mouth, the paper peels off easily, so you'll be disappointed. br>br>However, I will say that this is an excellent set for older children. br>br>Because the magnets are solid, you don't have to worry about small magnet pieces getting into the mouths of small children.
When I show my grandson the magnetic farm animals, he squeals with delight and imitates each animal's sound as he places the magnet on the refrigerator. I bought each of Melissa and Doug's sets and only wished there were more. These are made with such care and attention to detail, which sets them apart from a lot of the garbage on the market.
