The caps that cover the pebbles are easily removed. RISKY – BUYING THIS PRODUCT IS A MISTAKE! When the plastic cap covering the pebbles broke off while my 8-month-old daughter was playing with it, the metal rod and pebbles were exposed. I'm glad I was present when it happened because it was extremely dangerous. She could have choked on the pebbles or gotten her finger stuck in the metal rod. This product is not suitable for infants, so do not purchase it.
This toy was extremely popular among my grandson's friends. He enjoyed turning on the music and then switching between songs. Unfortunately, the sound has started to break down - It becomes fixated on a single note in a song - liked the sound of a skipping record - and will not allow the music to progress. It recovers to a point after a few hours of sitting and then begins to make that irritating sound. Even the baby (who is now 12 months old) isn't interested in it. I'd like to exchange, but the return deadline has passed. I'm hesitant to buy another because I'm afraid it will break down again. Sad.
Although playing music requires batteries, we are unconcerned with the music. The music can be turned on and off using a button. The best part is when you press down on the middle, it flies across the floor when you let go! Last night, my husband and I spent about 45 minutes with our 2-year-old playing with it. I'm sure our 10-month-old will enjoy it as well soon! I would strongly suggest it!.
On hardwood floors, it moves a long way, but not so much on thicker floors.
It's very simple to get it to move by pressing down on it. There is no way to adjust the volume, and there is no way to adjust the loudness. In addition, there's a cute light-up head. It's extremely tough and won't break if thrown or dropped. Great!.
After a month, I decided to stop working. Although the sound suggests that the batteries are weak, I have replaced them. The song skips and becomes stuck when it gets to the twinkle twinkle little star song. When I press the next song button, it plays for a few seconds before returning to twinkle twinkle and messing up all over again.
This item was purchased for my 8-month-old son. I needed to come up with a way to motivate him to keep crawling. It's a creative toy that will assist him in chasing it down. However, I was let down. Without a push on our thin carpet and play mat, we won't be able to get very far. There's also no way to control the volume of the music. Just a lot of noise. And it's a lot smaller than I expected. However, it is a good toy that he appears to enjoy and chase when we assist him with it. On the other hand, it looks great on a hardwood floor.
This was a gift for my grandson, so I got it for him. For what it was, I thought it was a little too pricey. My 6-month-old grandson seemed enthralled by the sounds and movements of the various parts, so I suppose he would be the best reviewer. So, in the end, I'd say it was a success. I only wish it was $5 cheaper.
