That's what I'm thinking.
There's no reason why it shouldn't be possible. It's not a sharp blade like a regular pair of scissors; instead, it's a piece of plastic used to mash soft dough. My son still uses both hands to do things, and cutting playdough hasn't been an issue for him.
It's perfect for playdough.

THE SCISSORS ARE EXTREMELY EXTREMELY EXTREMELY EXTREMELY EXTRE I've seen the best scissors I've ever seen! As always, keep an eye on how much pressure kids apply to the lever extruder, as they're prone to cracking at various points on ANY brand's version, but it's surprisingly durable. The small pump extruders are entertaining, but they require a lot of pressure to get through. . . And to get you to be difficult for an adult to Sam's pricing. . . And those tips can pop off under that pressure. Overall, I think it's a good set and would recommend it to others. Although there are no perfect Plato toys in the world, I believe he is the last one.
Little fingers found the scissors to be simple to use. The syringes and press could use a little more pressure, but they're still usable. Also of high quality is the plastic carrying/storage case. I have no reservations about recommending this purchase. Worth $!.
I experimented with a number of the lower-priced (or better-value) sets. This is far superior to all of them. The screw-on attachments for the extruder are fantastic. Even the tiniest of strips turn out beautifully. It was super easy for my four-year-old to use when I used Play Doh brand (which is softer than the other brands I've tried). She had to be a little more determined with some of the other brands. or don't fill it all the way to the top. Nonetheless, it was a huge success. It was also a hit with my 9-year-old.
This is my second play doh extruder set, and this one is a lot easier than the first. When you push it down, some of it gets caught, but my three-year-old can push it out to some extent. With supervision, the hand crank one is also suitable for a two-year-old. Despite the fact that we haven't had much use for the scissors yet, I'm pleased with this set and would recommend it.
My toddler enjoys playing with it, but the extruders are too difficult for her to operate on her own, and pushing them is nearly impossible for an adult. The hand press is fantastic, but play dough gets stuck in a variety of places that are too small to clean out with your finger. The scissors are excellent for learning how to cut, but the finger holes are a little too large for small hands.
This is a fantastic play dough tool set. It works well with two people if they are supervised. the age of three years The scissors are suitable for older children and are more powerful than those found in other play dough kits I've seen. The extruder slides are excellent, but children under the age of two should not be allowed to use them. 4 will require assistance in putting them together. I was looking for a toy to play with my young grandchildren, and the extruder fit the bill. The syringes are also excellent. A good selection of play dough tools that are easy to learn and use.
The scissors perform admirably and are not at all flimsy. My grandson enjoys playing with playdough, so I purchased this set for him. However, pressing the play dough through the extruders is difficult for his small hands - As a result, he prefers that I press the "noodles" while he cuts them as they emerge.
This assortment can be used to create a variety of shapes, designs, and other items. We put them to a lot of use and they're still going strong! The "guns" in the design are a little difficult to fire, but they'd be fine for older kids!.
