What you want to hang largely depends on how you intend to hang it. Five feet was the height at which I installed.
Although I don't have a ruler on me, I would estimate that The bags are around 5 to 2 inches wide. We usually keep Ice scrapers in them, but a regular shovel would not fit, and the broom handles would need to be I have not used the rack for skiing or snowboarding yet, though there are racks for brooms, etc. The rack is functional for snowboards and has worked well for snowboarding.

There is no question that this ski rack is made of solid materials There is no doubt that it is heavy and can support the weight of up to six The fact that each set of tines accommodated two pairs of modern style skis was a major plus for my husband and me. Rocker skis, however, have tines that are a bit too far apart Skis slid down to rest at a point well above the rocker point when the tines were well below the rocker point in the rack. We thought this would be bad for the skis in summer storage, especially since they are outside. Using insulation and cardboard to help keep the skis in place, we added insulation to the tines in order to resolve this problem. If you have rockered skis, you might consider going this route or placing the tines between the binding pieces to prevent this problem.
I am super A sturdy product that quickly and easily installs. In my opinion, the only thing that keeps the final star from being bestowed is that the gap between rods lets my skis drop a little too far, which means more pressure is put on the curved tips than I would like. I could also see a scratch or other mark developing over time on the pressure point because it was not passed. A small strip of some extra carpet wrapped around the spokes and one zip tie held the ends in place (keep the foot on the front side away from the skis) helped me solve the problem. Results were good. Very happy.
I do not believe a stronger rack is possible. Great deep (long) pegs that can hold more than one ski they are so long that you may not be able to mount the rack anywhere without it hitting the wall. The wall studs are directly attached to the brackets, so there is no chance of the bracket falling.
There is no way to hold skis or snowboards with this item. My afternoon has been spent trying to figure out how to add some padding to the tips of the skis so that they aren't damaged just by the very tips, which would absolutely destroy them. This snowboard pole holds the snowboard only a few inches. It is very frustrating when you buy, mount, and use a rack that fails to fulfill its function. The product is terrible.
There are two huge screws which need to be driven into studs, and you'll need a wrench to tighten.
As the rack was to be positioned between a wall cabinet and a storage rack, its size was perfect (14"). The mounting holes were 16" on center so they lined up perfectly with the wall studs. Each rod can easily hold two pairs of skis and the rack is durable.
I really like the quality of this rack, it is sturdy and looks great. * Thank you very much for being able to exchange my original purchase when I realized my original buy was a 4-box My space was too small for 8 racks.
It's safe to say that I have enough stuff to get me through the winter. I have my snowshoes, crampons, hiking poles, 2 sets of ski poles, and 1 set of skis.
