a large number of people or a small number of people Hundreds of false motion alerts are received on my Reolink system. When it's windy, raining, or snowing, this happens more frequently. br>I can reduce false alerts by lowering the motion sensitivity to a low level, but if I do so, it will no longer detect motion from people or animals. br>I haven't been able to find a happy medium where I don't get dozens of motion alerts from wind, rain, or snow but still get alerts from people or animals moving around. br>I've been working on it for a few days now, and it's starting to irritate me. br>br>It is not recommended.
It can also record events such as "any motion," "person," and "vehicle" 24 hours a day, seven days a week. My iPhone's mobile app is fantastic, and it's simple to go back through the recordings to see what's been going on. If you set it to email you and send you push notifications for "any motion," it will notify you every few minutes; however, it doesn't miss much, so don't worry about it. I have cameras in front of my house, and I didn't realize until after I set them up that cars pass by my house far more frequently than I expected. To be honest, I'm amazed at how much traffic there is. I work from home, but I'm usually in the back of the house, so I haven't noticed, despite the fact that I've lived here for 20 years. In any case, "vehicles" was also turned off by me. I only have alerts for "people," and I must say that they are fairly accurate. I believe the AI is looking for swinging arms and leg movement. My neighbor comes out in her house coat to get the paper in the morning, and it doesn't alert for her as a person, which I believe is due to the fact that the house coat is low to the ground, obscuring her legs. I have two cameras in front of my house that capture people walking down the street coming and going. There are times when one camera does not alert as a person, and I'm not sure why. However, it performs admirably the majority of the time. I like the NVR's interface and the iPhone app, but I don't like the Mac or Windows computer app, which I wish was more like the mobile app. I've added two more 820A cameras to the system; the cameras and housing appear to be well-made and sturdy. I don't like the mounting plate because it's too loose, but I fixed it by covering it with felt contact paper. So far, my decision has served me well.
I've installed at least 20 Reolink systems, but this was the first, and I strongly recommend them over other pre-packaged camera systems. It's an excellent image. In terms of ease of installation, it's on par with or better than any other IP camera system. It includes eithernet cables, but if you're doing it yourself, I recommend running your own. You can run nice, straight lines that won't be broken by your air conditioning or cable technician. The tools, tips, and cable staples are all reasonably priced, and it's always nice to be able to make an ethernet cable to your exact specifications whenever you want. The nightvision isn't particularly impressive, as the ir light shines on the eve's lip, washing out the image. I wish I could lower the light and keep the camera focused in the same place. Because it's rarely a person or a car, we turned off notifications after the motion detection was triggered enough times. Even though I install high-end camera systems, Reolink is the only brand I recommend to people looking for low-cost, easy-to-install cameras for their home. Don't go for a less expensive system; you'll be sorry if something goes wrong and your video image is too poor to see anything useful. I feel like they've set a new bar for me, as I now consider 8 megapixels to be the minimum resolution you should expect from a home security camera.
Make a financial plan. If the motion detection worked at all, I'd give this a five-star rating. Zones and sensitivity can be set. Even on the lowest setting, the entire zone was blocked out. It continues to send me texts stating that motion has been detected on my phone. Both the back and front cameras on my phone. I believe the only way to make these work is to use a motion-detecting camera that is only pointed at the area you want to be alerted about. So, basically, anything you'd like to be notified about. Two cameras are required. One serves as a motion detector, while the other serves as a recording device.
Is there a hardware version of the NVR that is older? Although it appears to be a good kit, there are a few flaws. When the camera's push notifications stopped working, I tried updating the firmware and connecting the nvr directly to the modem, but neither of these solutions worked. When I attempted to update the NVR, I was able to see recent updates for my model NVR, but not the hardware version I had received. Is it possible that I got a different version? I know it has the capability because it worked at first, but no matter where I change the setting, it turns itself off. I also have the impression that the alert settings aren't very accurate, but I'll have to do some more testing. br>br>Image quality appears to be good during the day, but at night, there is a lot of ghosting and "noise" in the image that I'm not sure how to fix.
The biggest issue I had was that the camera angles were too small, forcing you to buy more cameras or deal with coverage loss. Other systems in the same price range offer better angle cameras of comparable size and quality. Overall, this is a good system. It was simple to install and set up, but I didn't want to spend so much money on cameras when I could get the same results from another company for less money. Overall, I returned it and proceeded to another location.
