Yes. Your cameras will be visible if you have access to the app.
I downloaded the app and followed the on-screen instructions.
Yes, in theory. There will be a mechanical, audible "click" sound as the infrared night vision LEDs turn on and the camera enters Night Vision, and again when these systems disengage when Night Vision is turned off.

I purchased this as a replacement for my KC120 1080P and am very pleased with the results. In a non-professional capacity, I use this camera. a traditional method - It's pointed out my front window to keep an eye on the front yard and door (I can't put an external camera in there). The KC400 2K has a much higher resolution, and when I zoom in, I can see a lot more detail. It also appears to be better at filtering out false motion notifications, such as the wind blowing through the trees (even when the sensitivity level is set to the maximum). I also like that it has person detection notifications, which have proven to be accurate in my experience. br>br>I had the cameras side by side for one night, and you can clearly see that the newer camera (bottom picture) has much better clarity. When a coyote visited my yard, both cameras triggered at the same time. Because the window interferes with the IR LEDs, my night vision is completely disabled. My front yard receives enough light from my external garage light.
This camera is difficult to beat in terms of price/performance. The image quality is excellent, and network connectivity has been consistent thus far. The night vision is good, but the motion detection is hit or miss. We're experimenting with the length and sensitivity settings to see if we can get this to work properly. So, what's the (almost) fatal flaw here? The microphone is an important tool. The microphone, to be fair, is fantastic. Excellent in every way. As in, we can clearly hear ourselves on the app from a couple of rooms away, which is fantastic. While unsettling, it's not the worst of it: You won't be able to turn it off! You can tell it not to record, but you can't make it stop! Crazy! On what grounds is this acceptable? br>br>Well, it isn't, so I took care of it. It's not difficult to locate; It's the small hole on the front bottom left of the device; I used a small silicone foot I had on hand, but I'm sure some tape and cotton (or something to muffle the sound) would suffice. Because this egregious flaw was so simple to correct, I only docked one star. To be clear, I did a lot of research on how to disable it through software, but the Kasa forums' support staff is very good at intentionally misinterpreting the questing and answering a question that isn't related to it (no Ms. Solla-- Nobody is asking how to turn off'recording audio,' topee - We'd like to completely turn it off. I apologize for the inconvenience. ) br>br>Anyway, the only other issue we had, which is that the IR LEDs night vision is very (very) bright, will probably not be a problem for others. We're using this camera to look out the window at our front walkway, which means it's mounted in a window and we only see the reflection when it's in night vision mode. I have a workaround for that as well, and since bright IR is a good thing in most situations, I didn't dock a star for it. Another advantage is that the cloud service is completely optional. br>br> We're just saving locally on an SD card. It appears to be a good fit. Aside from that, there are three video resolutions to choose from: WQHD (2560x1440), which they incorrectly refer to as 2K (2K is a digital cinema standard that is 2048 1080), 1080p/Full HD (1920x1080 as long as the standard is followed), and 720p/HD (1280720 as long as the standard is followed). If you have a slow network, an old phone, or a small SD card, one of the lower resolutions should suffice. Overall, I would recommend this unit if you: br>br>
A. It doesn't matter if the audio is always on or not. br>B. If you don't mind, I'll cover the microphone.
You're notified 15 minutes later, and I've spent hours fiddling with the app to ensure it's not me. I looked up information on the internet and discovered that my setup is satisfactory. The World Wide Web is incredible. This is a fantastic connection. br>This thing takes FOREVER to connect, and it tells me 15 minutes after the fact that my place was robbed. I programmed the sensor to go from 12 a. m. to 6 a. m. Set the boundaries of the area it must keep an eye on. br>It did that, but it didn't tell me until it was too late! WHAT KIND OF TRASH IS THAT? br>br>WHAT KIND OF TRASH IS THAT? You think the app will work if I try to get the video for the cops? There's no way. We had only been standing there for 20 minutes when the app began to function. Even after resetting my phone, retrieving the clip took ten minutes. When I try to play the game again, it crashes. Oh, my goodness, I'm capable of strangling someone. Keep a safe distance from this scum. br>If you're getting it to keep an eye on your kids, best of luck. You'll have to wait a while before you get a notification, because you'll be "gone" for a while. Is there a fire in the house? It's too late; by the time you're notified, the building is already on fire. trash.
