It was well worth the money. We were using a little more gas than usual, and I noticed it. Our gas bill was a little higher this year than it had been the previous year. That didn't make any sense to me. I didn't detect any gas leaks inside the house, but I thought I detected something on the front porch. I figured I'd give this gas detector a shot to see if it could detect anything. I replaced the batteries and took a thorough walk around the house (both inside and out). When I arrived on the front porch, the motion detector went off and all the lights turned on. I made a quick call to the gas company. They arrived, confirmed the results, and immediately turned off the gas line, which had ruptured beneath the concrete porch. One of the best purchases I've made is that small detector. It was well worth the money.

Because I couldn't smell anything, I assumed it was inaccurate, so I used Windex to check where it indicated leaks. It Turned Out to Be Correct! There were four leaks in my system! Now that they've been repaired, it no longer detects anything, and neither does Windex! IT WORKS AMAZINGLY WHEN USED PROPERLY! Take a look at the video! In my laundry room, where I keep this detector, I thought I smelled gas. To see if the detector would detect anything, I moved it closer to the boiler and hot water heater. It felt nothing after a few minutes of warming up. After that, I decided to put it to the test to see if it works. I plugged it into the wall in the kitchen and waited for it to warm up. I then lit a gas stove and positioned the detector directly on top of it. Standing next to the burner, I could hear and smell gas, but the detector never detected it by reading or sounding an alarm. It's frightening to think I've been relying on it for my safety. br>br>If you buy it, I recommend that you test it right away to see if it works. Mine is not one of them.
