My interior gas pipes were inspected several times by the gas company, but nothing was discovered. The much more expensive gas detector the gas company used missed that leak, and the tech wanted to leave. I pulled out this little gadget, made it go off, and convinced the tech to double check, which he did, and this time he found it. It turned out that the house's main gas line had burst and needed to be replaced right away. All because of a $30 purchase, they were digging up the street within minutes. br>br>The sensor is extremely sensitive; however, because it does not trip instantly, it is important to move it slowly. It'll go off if you keep it still for a few seconds. The professional sensor used by the gas company did not appear to be any different, based on what I've seen. This is a must-have item if you have gas service.

This discovered a gas leak in my home, but what should I do now that it's been repaired? I wish it had a secondary function, such as a calculator, can opener, or AM radio. Even a flashlight would be a good idea. It's great as a gas detector, but it's terrible as a can openerZbr>br>But that's fine; I suppose finding a gas leak is enough.

One thing I'd like to see happen is for items to be delivered via Prime, UPS, or FedEx rather than the US Postal Service. Due to a lack of access to the front door, USPS stated that the package could not be left. We live in an RV park with no entrance gate and no barrier to the front door; in fact, I spent the entire afternoon in the yard. br>The unit appears to be in good working order; the instructions were clear and appeared to have been written by someone whose first language was English; they were simple to understand and concise; I read the instructions immediately, turned it on, and waited for it to warm up. I went to the gas stove and turned on a burner without turning it on, and the audio and visual alarms were correct. I double-checked every fitting I could reach (I live in an RV with a 120 gallon LP tank in the yard). On the pressure relief valve, there is a faint, brief alarm. Installed a sensor where the sewer hose connects to the ground pipe, and received the expected audio/visual alert (methane, a potentially explosive gas). (It's funny how that works). We'll have to wait and see how things go in the future. It was simple and quick to register on the company's website, with only four fields to fill out (name, email, model, and Amazon order number).

About 5 years ago, I put in a natural gas heater in my shop. This year, I became aware of a faint odor associated with natural gas. I used soapy water to check connections for leaks and found none, but the odor lingered. I decided to order this leak detector after turning off the gas. Despite the mixed reviews, I decided to give it a try. I put the batteries in and turned it on. I went looking for my leak by turning on the garage gas valve. I didn't have to wait long because it almost immediately tripped the detector. My leak was found to be at the union after further investigation. The leak stopped after I tightened the wrenches on the fitting. I'm happy and relieved that it was so straightforward. This was an excellent addition to my tool collection.

I had a stove gas leak and it was the start of the weekend, so I decided to take a chance and buy this. I turned off the gas and used soap, but it didn't work. This unit was used and revealed a leak in less than 5 seconds at the connection of the flexible pipe to the back of the stove valve. I dismantled the connection and re-sealed it with pipe thread sealant, and the unit showed no signs of leakage. I now have this detector that I can use whenever I need it in the future, and even if I can't fix it, I'll be able to find any leaks.

I discovered a gas leak and was able to track it down. Once you figure out how to use it, it's fantastic. In a clean environment (away from a gas leak), rotate the sensitivity switch until it goes off, then turn it down just enough to silence the alarm. With that setting, it is sensitive enough to detect low-level leaks and sound an alarm. When the leak is stronger, it becomes louder (which aids in pinpointing it), but it does not blink faster as the instructions suggest.

I made a camper out of a bus. The stove is in my hands. Gas is used to power two furnaces, a hot water heater, and a refrigerator. This was a lot faster than using soapy water to check for leaks. I keep it in the camper to make sure there are no leaks. After a month, I discovered a small leak at the connection on the refrigerator.

At first, the device appeared to be a toy, but it actually works. We contacted the gas company to have our stove inspected. The installers had connected it with the incorrect pipe. We had proof of a leak with the gas detector because it was sporadic, so we had to call an appliance repair company to fix it. It was well worth the $245 he demanded to have such a dangerous situation resolved. Thanks!.
