Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
High Sensitivity Quick Response: With a highly sensitive (adjustable) sensor and a quick reaction time, you'll be able to detect gas leaks in less than 10 seconds and avoid potentially dangerous accidents or damage.
Small Detector Super Sensor: A 14-inch flexible probe allows for leak detection in hard-to-reach and confined spaces. Six red LEDs (visual) and 85dB audible alerts that increase with gas concentration, super sensor, high sensitivity, long lifetime
Versatile with Combustible Gases: For flammable gas detection, such as gas pipelines, propane tank stations, cabin leaks, exhaust gas and fuel leaks, and access leak inspection. Methane or natural gas, propane, ethane, coal gas, gas oil, gasoline, toluene, alcohol, ketone, and other flammable gases are just a few examples. Use in construction projects, mines, gas appliance safety checks, oil spills in the home kitchen or camper, and so on.
Low battery indicator, audible buzzer: The combustible gas leak detector has a low battery indicator that ensures the instrument is fully charged before the next use. The presence and concentration of detected gas are also indicated by loud audible buzzers installed in the device.
Durable and portable: Made of double-sided ABS, this case is easy to transport.

Questions & Answers

What is the working principle of a gas leak detector?

3*1. When the instrument's sensor detects vaporous gas, it operates on a 5V AA battery after an automatic warm up. When a gas forms a combustible compound, the signal changes as the tick rate increases, and an LED illuminates to locate combustible leaks.

Is it possible for you to explain how to use the natural gas tester detector at any time?

Yes, simply turn it on and adjust the dial to the level of sensitivity you desire.

How many parts per million (ppm) is the sensitivity?

Variable sensitivity, minimum 50 ppm (methane), warm-up it's time to get going

Is there a warranty on this product?

I'm not sure, but for the price, there's no way to go wrong. If you plan on using a gas tester frequently, you should consider investing in a more expensive model.

Awesomeness in a cost-effective package! Also, very useful data! **Caution: Short Review, Long Use Instructions**br>*How to Use the Unit Effectively*br>br>Overall, I am very pleased with this unit
5/5

With the build quality in mind and the "bare-bones" design, I believe this unit is reasonably priced. The "meat and potatoes" of the unit. The fact that it's bare bones is a good thing because it's such a good value, and anything else would greatly increase its price, and it'll do the job you bought it for (finding leaks) extremely well. If reach is an issue or you know the leak is in a specific location but it's intermittent, it appears that you can mount this to a pole or tripod stand. br>I only received this unit today, but I immediately put it to use and covered the speaker with tape so that I can keep it close to me while working in close quarters. Most likely not waterproof, but if you're worried about that and it's raining, set up a tarp or an umbrella. There are more issues than just the gas leak you're looking for if there's another reason. br>br>Overview: br>br> br>Comes with a page that basically tells you how to use the unit, how to warm it up with the sensor turned on (the "click" from the sensitivity dial on the side), what it does, and what you can expect from it. I was expecting the black sides to be rubberized, but they aren't. This will necessitate the purchase of (quantity. The physical sensor is housed at the red part of the goose neck and is powered by an AA battery. To "warm up sensor," count to about 20 seconds with the unit turned on with the switch in front and the sensor turned on. How to set up the unit: br>br> br>After warming the sensor, just barely get the LED light on the "sense indicator" in front of the unit to not light up any part of the indicator levels (as if it were off). The level and intensity of the speaker in front, as well as the LED indicators, will increase as a concentration in the air is detected. You can test your unit with any gas source, such as a butane source such as a cigarette/barbeque lighter, a natural gas source such as a stove top, or any propane source (I included a photo of the manual with this review). br>br>How to make the most of your unit: br>Once you've set up the unit and are ready to use it for gas leak testing, you'll quickly discover that putting it in the area where the leak is will cause it to go crazy. This is the overall learning curve, and it's not too steep: Simply return the sensitivity to where it was when the unit was first turned on. This will effectively "desensitize" the unit, preventing it from triggering when the sensor detects traces of gas lingering in the air due to the leak. Because you already know where the leak is coming from and now want to pinpoint the exact location, a lower sensitivity will only detect the leak when the sensor is in the leak's stream. br>br>How can you put this into practice? br>Use your outdoor propane grill or a lighter that has been turned down to just barely allowing gas to escape, but do not light a flame. This will cause the unit to sound off. Reduce the unit's sensitivity to the point where it either doesn't go off at all or only goes off occasionally (depending on your needs and/or situation). By releasing more gas, the unit will now emit a more intense sound. THIS IS HOW A LEAK IS PINPOINTED. br>br>THAT IS THE PART THAT EVERYONE HAS FAILED TO DEMONSTRATE, from hours of googling and watching videos on youtube to reviews on this site. On YouTube, there is a person who made a video in full spanish that either demonstrated or hinted at the fact that you can.

It was the difference between life and death for me! I smelled gas in the garage, and it was extremely sensitive
5/5

As a result, I dialed the gas company's telephone number. They immediately dispatched a technician, but they were unable to locate the source of the leak. This tester arrived the next day while I was still smelling gas. So I went around looking for a leak on my own. It was able to detect gas almost immediately! I also tried a pen-style gas detector, but it didn't work, most likely because it's not as sensitive and only works if you're really close to the source of the leak. br>br>To cut a long story short, I used this tester to find a gas leak that even a professional with a professional tester couldn't find. This is a device that should be in every home.

This is a life saver
5/5

In the house, there has been a strong odor of gas. I just got this in the mail (shortly after ordering it) and discovered that my new stove was not properly installed by professionals who are more concerned with getting home early than with poisoning their customers. We discovered the leak, repaired it, and are now able to breathe clean air once more. Even if you don't suspect any problems, I recommend having one of these on hand.

Garbage, as well as the inability to detect minor leaks
3/5

I needed a new gas detection meter because my old one had broken, so I came across this and saw that it had a lot of positive reviews, so I decided to give it a shot. I wanted to test the sensitivity of the unit when I first got it, so I followed the instructions for a first-time use and then tested it against known leak sources like an outdoor gas grill or an appliance pilot, which yielded mixed results and inconsistent readings on the amount of leakage, even when I used the sensitivity dial. br> A few weeks later, I smelled a small amount of gas coming from my gas meter, so I called the gas company to have it fixed. The gas company performed a safety check on all of my gas connections as part of the repair and discovered two minor leaks that my meter failed to detect. I understand the gas company's detector is a very sensitive and high-quality unit, but he allowed me to compare my unit to his for a few minutes in order to assess its quality. We basically agreed that I should get rid of this detector because the level of detection is of very poor quality for this unit, so it went into my electronics recycling box after I had passed the 30-day return window.

It was well worth the money
5/5

I bought this a long time ago, but I'd never had a gas leak, so I had no idea how well it worked. In my basement this morning, I detected gas. When I first got this, I turned it on, and it immediately "alarmed. " It became increasingly louder as I got closer to the boiler. I called the gas company, and it turns out that my boiler has a gas leak. He discovered the issue and shut down my boiler's gas supply. It's been an hour since he left, and my basement's windows are all open, but this device still detects gas in the air. I'm blown away by how sensitive this thing is.

It does exactly what it says
5/5

After receiving permits to install an outdoor grill, stove, and fire pit (all natural gas), I purchased this. After calibrating as directed, I turned on the range burner to let the gas out; it's quite loud! My wife was terrified, and the dogs were frightened as well. There was no alarm when I checked all of the piping at the joints. I went back into the house and turned on a burner (this time with a warning) and it screeched again, so it's safe to say that this detects natural gas and works as advertised.

Good
5/5

It's a good product; I bought it when I was building my new kitchen and wanted to make sure there wasn't a gas leak inside before disconnecting the gas stove from the wall. I tested it both inside with the stove and outside with the BBQ, and it worked flawlessly every time, so I felt more comfortable using it inside to double-check my work. Look at what I've created.

It does not sit well with me
3/5

It has a siren-like alarm that is obnoxiously loud. It requires calibration, which has its advantages but is inconvenient because the instructions say to set the device to the first red light indicator, and the thumb wheel is sensitive (as if it were ticking like a time bomb). I tested it against an unlit stove burner. It is effective. However, I do not recommend it, as there are better models available for $25. Also, never put your faith in 5-star reviews.
