It will most likely do the same on the outside if it is in a position that stops movement on the inside (depending on your door lock/handles). It may not be possible if they move independently of one another, but if they move in lockstep, as most do, it will almost certainly prevent entry from either side of the door.
Your best friend is 3M double-sided tape foam.
They do adhere to glass, yes. Simply clean the glass and allow it to dry before adhering the product to it.
They haven't been used on glass yet. It seems to me that removing it from glass would be very difficult.

I was hoping to find something as simple as the door knob covers that only require one hand to operate. This was the most practical solution I could find for door handles. The components are well-made, and the adhesive is adequate. These things will not come off unless you pry them off if you clean the surface first and make good contact. To turn it over, I had to take one out. Another benefit was that it didn't remove any paint from the door. They are extremely effective. br>br> Our twins no longer play with them and have given up trying to open the doors. The swinging arm clicks into place and is adjustable, allowing you to find the perfect notch to keep the handle from moving. br>br>I'll share one suggestion that we found to be helpful. The swinging arm is recommended to be placed on the bottom in the description and pictures. I found it difficult to open with one hand because the buttons must be squeezed from beneath and up. We flipped them over to put the swinging arms on top. That way, it's a lot easier to get to. However, if you mount them that way, you must lift up on the handle to open the door rather than pushing down on the handle as most people do. We didn't mind, and within a week, we were lifting ourselves without even realizing it. The other benefit is that our twins aren't tall enough to lift the door handle and open it. For the time being, we don't need to lock these, but it will keep them from opening the door.
One of my cats has the ability to open doors all over the house. So trying to keep my cats out of our pantry or other places they didn't want to be was becoming a bit of a pain. We started thinking about childproofing our apartment even though we don't have any. It's just a bunch of demon fur babies. br>br>Anyway, we got these and they're fantastic! I was initially concerned that we would lock ourselves out of our bedroom by accident. Fortunately, each item comes with a detachable top, so we simply hung them without it. I have three of these around the apartment and they are holding up great. I was able to pop it off and reattach it with ease when I was first testing them out. I'm not convinced about the other reviewer's assertion that it removes paint. I suppose I'll find out as soon as I relocate. Regardless, fantastic product!! br>br> And the image shown is of the product without its attachable piece (it was included, but I chose not to use it).
He hasn't been able to open any of them, which is incredible! They were simple to install on the doors, and my husband and I have had no trouble getting inside since then.
I was afraid I'd lock myself out when I first got it. Our door handles, on the other hand, operate the door in either direction, so we installed them backwards and they work perfectly. My 2-year-old cannot open the door by pressing the handle down, but I can do so by lifting the handle up from either side.
We had to figure out how to open the door because he had somehow locked it and shut it. We were lucky enough to have a spare "emergency door key" from a neighbor, but we had to go online to find something. These certainly did the job, but after I installed them, I decided to install them upside down as suggested by others, and when I went to remove them, the paint on my mother-in-law's doors was gone! GREAT PRODUCT, BUT WARNING: PAINT WILL COME OFF! Regrettably, I'll have to return these.
It will cause the paint on the door to peel off. But, honestly, is that such a bad thing when it's childproof? It indicates that it is functional. To avoid this, use heat, such as from a hair dyer or a heat gun, when removing these. Because of the good adhesion, I was able to remove one door and replace it with another! These are far superior to child gates and are well worth the money.
Good, but the glue isn't quite strong enough. Two of them were easily removed by my toddler. Unlike command hook glue, this glue will rip the paint off the door.
To move it, you must simultaneously press both buttons while also adjusting the lever. My two-year-old figured it out about halfway through the day. Even so, he was slowed. Then he became proficient at it. Then he locked me in my own bathroom with it, and I couldn't leave until he released me! Finally, when I went to remove it, the paint on the door was ripped off. This is not something I would recommend!.
