Questions & Answers

Are these available in white so that the screw shaft will not be visible? Is this a bad way of looking at it?

Sorry, but it's not possible. Therefore, we made the screws barely visible so they were white and didn't match. If the whole thing had been white it would be more obvious than a clear plate with a screw barely displayed.

What if a 4 year old tried to turn on the light with this?

That would be the case The problem is that anyone who tries to turn on the light will be prevented from doing so. Everyone is locked in on or off when this switch is in this position. Using this, I am able to make sure that my lights are powered at all times through my home automation setup.

The light switch must be down to work. Does the similar principle apply to offlights?

By rotating the switch lock 180 degrees, the lock can be installed to work either way.

The company follows through with its promises
3/5

The switch can be used to control a permanent lighting or outlet, or to turn it off as needed based on motion. The information I was looking for is exactly what I needed. There is no need to use the switch at all since I installed motion sensor light in the closet and pantry. The switch could have been removed and the wiring shorted and a cover put on it, but I chose to leave it in case I wanted to go back or if the next owner disliked There is a pack of 5 for $11 and you get 5 sheets. An expensive way to get thin pieces of acrylic plastic with three holes in them. CNC machined, so they're lightweight and durable For around a penny a piece, they could mold them if there was enough demand. Nevertheless, it appears to be worth the effort. The following simple oversights result in a demerit Even though there are no instructions, the process is quite straightforward Since many people will not know to peel off the protective plastic coating, and because the plastic is matt, rough, and ugly unless you take it off both sides, they should tell you to do that. There are always two mounting holes that hold flat head screws in the switch plates and they should have been countersunk (beveled). It looks very ugly when the screw heads stick out. In my workshop, I fixed them by using the right countersink tool within 10 seconds each, but they should come this way by default. It is an easy project that you can knock out a dozen of in a few minutes if you have some 1/16th plastic and a drill press. That's all there is to it. Buying a couple of these probably makes more sense if you need just a couple, and they work quite well.

Thanks! It works like a charm! In another review, someone stated that the product did not sit flush against the wall plate and did not look good
5/5

As this was my first time to install the switch lock, I removed the plate and set it underneath, then replaced the switch plate over it. There is no way to turn it off or on! You can barely tell its even there as you can't see its position! The grandparents won't be able to break in!.

My problem was solved perfectly with this simple solution! I highly recommend this product! This is a straightforward application that does exactly what it is meant to do

Switches are not flipped because this switch prevents that! My husband and I have invested in a property with some really weird wiring, so I need this. In the main living room, there was a switch with three toggles that controlled different lights. The last one is the only exception. It's the third toggle switch in our living room, so we're getting pretty excited! If you have your lamps plugged into outlets, that's fine and dandy. The outlet for your TV and internet router is not so great when it's needed for both of them! Due to the fact that I'm renting out the property with AirBNB, I had to make sure the internet wasn't turned off or else I would lose the alarm system. For this reason, I require remote access to the lock in order to change the code remotely. I had a problem with guests turning off all three toggles when they left, not knowing what the switch was for! I FOUND IT! I was able to save my life with this little product! Who wants to pay for an electrician to fix it when there are things like this available for free! The book is a good buy if you have an experience that is similar to this. No one will know until they try to flip the switch that it has been installed and you won't regret it. I like that.

A word of caution with newer light switches Locks that flicker, lock instability, and factory resetting are among the common problems
3/5

had a very disappointing experience with this product. I have a newer house with standard light switches but they are modern. A single pole light switch needed a lock to be held in the on position, so I installed this lock on it. When I was tightening the screws, the light shut off and stayed off. I tried holding it in the on position, but it did not react. The light is off again after briefly being on, stays on for a second, and then goes back off after pushing the switch ever so slightly upwards. It took me a few days to realize that my (newer) switch will accidentally shut off with the slightest downward force This is unlike the switches at my former homes that you could lower to about the middle before a flicker or a power outage occurred. Eventually, I'm going to need a larger lock, but in the meantime, these locks are terrible no matter what they're designed for. Even just screwing this in caused a factory reset smartbulb as all the back and forth slight up and down caused it to go out A downward force is present. There was probably a way to prevent it if the hole for the switch had also been angled instead of completely straight- A switch in the on or off position is at an angle, so it is quite clear that this was an error. To make this work, I had to install it with no wallplate at all, and attach it to the hole only at the top Even though it did not keep the light off in this situation, it is still a huge safety hazard left on. As I tried to mount the wall plate on top of the lock, I was unable to screw the bottom into place without it shutting off, so it is sticking out horribly while still exposing the The majority of customer who have older homes, I expect, are able to apply the system in a variety of different ways In any case, if you have a light switch that was manufactured in the last 6 or 7 years, check to see how much force you need to apply to turn it off before attempting this. These locks come in a standard ziplock bag, and until you peel off the the scuffed layer of film on both sides, they look really ugly. As far as I can tell, this lock was way flimsier than other switch locks I've purchased from Amazon. I'm referring to the type that only take one screw and push the switch in one The screws on these are at least three times as thick as this one, and the screw hole on this one is not angled. The reason I bought this lock is because I thought it would look pretty and be almost invisible. Then I realised how wrong I was. As there is no angle/bevel in the screw hole, the screws are sticking halfway out. In addition, the ugly screw threads are way larger coming out of the hole, making the whole thing look terrible. When you look through a clear glass, it has the effect of being in the dark There is more of it, it is warped and it looks It is impossible to describe how disappointed I am. There is a chance that if you own an older house with old switches, you might be able to get past some of the design flaws like the not-adjustable black clips. A plastic panel with screw holes on both angles or beveled edges is not as durable. It's important not to tighten the screws all the way, as I did when I was trying to make it stay on, because you could crack the plastic horizontally through The majority, especially those that have switches that shut off when you touch them downwards' Don't limit yourself to just one place. The trash will take care of these.

I'm so glad! There was a pink piece of tape blocking me from turning off the power switch in my living room, and it looked terrible

With this toggle switch lock, it is unlocked completely and it cannot be turned off at all.

Despite my best efforts, I cannot accomplish my goal
5/5

As far as I can tell, this product works properly. A switch was connected to our flood lights so that we could install cameras. For the camera to work properly, the switches needed to be left on all the time. The only way I make sure all of the switches are off is by making sure they are all switched Trying to remember not to flip the switch was not easy. As a result, I had to buy this product. It has successfully thwarted my various attempts to turn it Easy to install and remove, they are also easy to reinstall. In terms of cons, the only problem was that the film covering it made it difficult Apart from that, it seems to be doing its job and holding up well. Some of the ones included in the package were also not necessary, so I gave some of them It seemed that they were excited about this product, and I hope that they enjoy it as much as I do.
