Questions & Answers
They're made of ABS, a material that's electrically insulating.
Yes, in the package, there was a removal tool. Without the tool, removing these can be quite difficult. I've tried a few others, and these have proven to be the most difficult to remove. If you know you'll be using a few plugs frequently, you might want to purchase separate ones for them. However, the price on these is unbeatable.
I use my nails, but if the outlet is particularly tight, you may need to pry it open with something.
I don't see why they couldn't be used with an extension cord.

Excellent value for money! Before I bought these, I read a lot of reviews, and a lot of people said they were difficult to remove from the outlets. "Wow, that's exactly what I've been looking for!" I thought. " They're a good fit for the outlets. " They were difficult to get rid of, according to my adolescent. My two-year-old, on the other hand, is adamantly opposed. He had them out and back in the sockets in no time. However, anyone who has ever had a toddler knows how persistent and determined they can be, and teenagers are simply lazy and don't want to remove the outlet covers in order to avoid vacuuming. The outlet covers, on the other hand, do what they're supposed to do. The ultra clear ones, like the ones I bought, deceive me because I don't notice them unless I'm right up against the wall. Plus, the price is unbeatable.
To everyone who claimed they couldn't get them off when they needed to, I say buy. You have a medical problem. With a gentle tug from under my nail (and no, I didn't break or even come close to breaking my nails), I was able to remove these with ease. Use a flat head screwdriver or a paint can opener if you couldn't get them off with your nails when you needed to. You people act as if you don't understand what's going on! Because some reviewers claimed they couldn't get them off when they needed to, I was hesitant to purchase this product. I'm so glad I didn't pay attention!.
These were purchased to prevent cold air from entering our house through our outlets. Yes, our house must be so poorly insulated that cool air can be felt breezing right through the outlets on the house's outermost portions. I first stuffed the outlets with outlet-specific insulation, but air still got in through the holes in the plugs, so I taped them, which meant I had to poke holes in them every time I vacuumed. As a result, these were the ideal choice. They are of high quality. made and appear to be excellent You won't notice them unless you get right up close to the outlet.
They are effective - They do, however, require a tool to remove them. These puppies are very close to being perfect. And that's exactly what you're looking for - But there's no way to get rid of it - Unless you have a plastic prying mechanism, want to break your fingernails, or want to cuss loudly, these are just a pain in the neck in areas where you'll need to remove them frequently. We'll use them eventually, and I usually have to pry one out of a socket with the help of a spare. I only wish they had a more integrated removal system. We chose the plug protectors from IKEA because they have an integrated set of slots that allow you to insert a spare outlet cover and lock it in place to pull one out of the socket.
**Update: br>I was a bit hasty with my words. I'm giving this product a lower rating than I originally gave it because I've discovered (the hard way) that they're extremely difficult to get rid of! Which is great for babies, but there's a problem when an adult can't get them out. In the outlet, there have already been a few BREAK OFFs. So yay. They are terrible. br>br>I'm giving this five stars because they're not overly bulky, they're simple to "install" and remove (but not so simple that a child could do it), and you get a lot for your money.
These are simple to install, and the fact that the outlet is covered is barely noticeable. Adults have a difficult time getting rid of them. I broke one while attempting to remove it from the outlet (not to mention the fingernails I've broken attempting to remove the outlet covers). I don't think my child will be able to easily remove these.
It's very effective at keeping small children and their fingers out of sockets, but it's not the easiest I've ever had in terms of adult removability. I suppose you could look at this as both a positive and a negative, with the positive being that if completely inserted into the socket, no child will be able to pull it out, but the negative being that adults may remove it quickly to plug in a vacuum or something similar. Bottom line, if you're buying this to keep your children safe, it will definitely do so; it may take a minute to remove, but if you're patient, you won't have any problems!.
These outlet covers are almost too good to be true! It's difficult for me to get them out of the outlets because they're so tight. I'm glad they'll be safe because I know my kids wouldn't be able to get them out, but I wish they were a little easier for me to remove when I need to use an outlet as an adult. You get a lot of covers for your money.
