Prior to 1879, we all lived in a civilized world with wireless technology, but alas, humanity's demise has relegated us to the dark ages of small wall holes, from which the demon magic lightening originates. Lo! We've come a long way, haven't we? These shards of plastic are our last hope for keeping the darkness of the energy wells away from those tiny, priceless fingers of childhood, who are unaware of the demonic energy's dangers. Buy ten! Twelve should be purchased. Protect yourself and your children from the dangers that lurk there!.
Unfortunately, they aren't nearly as well made. The plastic is of low quality, and once plugged in, they're nearly impossible to remove. It's great that the baby can't pull them out, but it's extremely inconvenient for the parent to try to pry them out of the wall outlet when they need to plug something in. In fact, when I went to vacuum and tried to remove one of the plug protectors, the prong on the back snapped off into the outlet, and I can no longer use it. What you pay for is exactly what you get. These are not something I would buy again.
To be clear, I didn't purchase these for the sake of safety. In my home, there are no small children. However, I'd like to point out that they'd be a good idea for a caregiver of someone with Alzheimer's or dementia to use for safety reasons as well. But, for the sake of this discussion, consider the following: I purchased an older home with unsightly electrical outlets. Changing the cover plates helped, but I still had the actual outlets, which were not only in an unattractive finish, but also in an old ivory color. White trim had been painted throughout, and white cover plates had been installed. When I wasn't using the plugs, I covered them with these plug protectors. Many of my outlets are rarely used, so they have a nice, tidy appearance all around. I saved $350 by not having an electrician replace my perfectly functional but unsightly outlets for less than $4:.
These are not the ones! When I need to use an outlet, I have to pry them off because they are too tight. They blend in with our outlet covers and don't draw the attention of curious children. The material is excellent, and the price is very reasonable.
I've used a lot of plug covers, and these are by far the best. My baby is adamant about getting them off, and while she has been successful with other styles/brands, she has yet to do so with these! Adults, on the other hand, can easily remove them. My only concern is that if my baby prys these off and puts one in her mouth, there are no holes for air to pass through, so that's something I'm concerned about. Simply make sure to replace them or keep them out of reach at all times.
I was disappointed when I discovered this item in store for a few cents less a few days later, but it was convenient to have it delivered to my mailbox the next day. It's a tight fit getting in when you're covering multiple outlets next to each other. It has a sharp edge that is easy to grasp for removal, but it does necessitate paying attention to what you're doing. Because these are fairly clear, I've found that marking the edge I want to grip in order to pull them up helps with low vision. Is the job going to cover my floor outlets or extension cords? If so, I'm confident they'll be safe from spills. These appear to be adequate for baby proofing; they do not fall out on their own and appear to be difficult to remove without intent.
Because he's preoccupied with the unopened box, these keep the baby safe and away from outlets. He shakes it, rolls it around on the floor, and has a great time with it! I'm sure we'll be able to plug them into outlets once he's finished with it. We have several outlets covered (as seen in the photo), as well as an overhang that looks into the kitchen and is used on a daily basis for everything from homework/study time to working from home. br>br>With our older children, it's difficult for them to get out of the outlets, and it's difficult for my wife (SHH, don't tell my wife I'm the same way) to get them out. My wife has even introduced the use and reuse of PLUG PROTECTORS for the entire family when we have get-togethers or meetings and stay-overs if we are going on family trips against electrical shocks and wet areas. This is a great product to have on hand at all times. br>br>CON: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is not the place br>If they aren't covered, they are extremely easy for a child to swallow, so PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE keep them out of the reach of children.
This is precisely what we required for the protection of our child. That's precisely what I was looking for in a plug protector. They're simple to put in, but even as an adult, I'm having trouble removing them from the outlet. In addition, the price is very reasonable. I'll buy this brand again if I need more of these in the future.
