Questions & Answers
Steel is used in the construction of the tank. It is secured by a brass T. This tank was made in the same way as the one it replaced, which was also a Well X Trol tank that I installed over 40 years ago. It wasn't because of corrosion that I needed to replace it. The bladder finally gave out after 40 years and allowed water to enter, rendering it useless for pressure holding. The manufacturers of this tank are most likely well aware of any potential issues with corrosion, and have constructed it out of materials that should eliminate that concern. They should know what they're doing because they've been doing it for a long time. If you have this tank connected to a municipal water supply, I believe you should be fine. If you have it on your own water supply, you can check to see if it has any corrosive properties due to dissolved minerals that could eat away at steel components. My water is corrosive because it comes from a well. It was a problem for my hot water heater, and I had to replace it twice in 40 years. It doesn't happen often enough for me to be unhappy.
If the water inside the tank freezes solid, the tank and the brass alloy pipes that come with this kit will be damaged. When water freezes, it expands in size. Because the pipes aren't strong enough to withstand such expansion, they'll burst when the water inside them freezes. There's a lot more water in the tank than there is in the rest of the house. If only a small portion of the water freezes, the top of the water surface will likely bulge where it meets the internal air bladder at the top of the tank, but the tank will not be damaged.... Unless all of the water inside congeals into a single large ice cube. The tank would most likely burst as a result of this. You can expect a catastrophic outcome if you place this tank in an area where it will freeze. To be safe, place the tank somewhere where it won't freeze. I hope this has provided you with a satisfactory response to your query.
No, if you're handy and know your way around some basic plumbing, you can install it yourself. To change over 3 wires, you'll also need to turn off the pump's power.
I don't think the depth of the well matters; if you use a pump to bring the water up, it should be fine.

When compared to lower-quality products sold separately at Home Depot or Lowe's, this is a good deal. Except for the specific fittings required to connect the 1" tee to your specific pipes, this kit includes everything you'll need to finish the job. In addition, I installed a 1" check valve. It took me about 60 minutes to complete the installation.
After our Well X Trol from 1984 broke down, this worked perfectly for our well water needs.
This is an excellent choice for purchasing the tank as well as the necessary basic parts.
