My well casing is made of pvc and measures 5 inches in diameter. 5/8 diameter on the outside. Is this a viable solution?

Yes, the outside diameter of the casing is a standard 5" casing. This goes on top of it and glues it in place.

In this case, what are the id and od dementions?

If that helps, our well casing is 5 inches long and fits perfectly.

Is it able to keep the insides of the house dry?

No, there's a covered vent that lets air into the well as the water level rises and falls.

Is it possible to use a 5 inch black steel casing with this? Is there a rubber seal on it?

No, it's designed to be glued to a PVC case.

I couldn't find this anywhere else and was relieved to discover it on Amazon. It is of good quality and fits perfectly. I'm not sure why it says abs when the material is pvc, as shown in the photo.
