Questions & Answers

What is the length of the pump's electrical cable?

The pump's electrical cable is a few feet long and can be spliced into the power box's electrical line. It was about 6 feet tall, I believe. long. In the spirit of over-abundance of data, consider the following: br>I used a submersible splice kit (available on Amazon or Lowe's) to make the splice. The splices are included, as well as a heat shrink tube with a rubberized coating that oozes out when shrunk over the splices. As an added precaution, I taped over the splice with 3M type 33 black tape. This tape has a putty-like texture. When wrapped, it looks like and sticks to itself. All of the barbed fitting/hose clamp plumbing joints, as well as the pump's cast housing, were covered with 3M tape. br>It's been a few months since the pump was installed, and it's been great. This pump's quality and performance will not leave you disappointed.

Is there a way to tell if a hallmark ma0414x- is genuine? Is there an electrical cable included with a deep well pump?

The pump comes with a 6-foot cable. Home Depot has all of the electrical splices and wire you'll need for the job.

Is this pump compatible with a well casing with a diameter of 4"?

Is this pump compatible with a 4-inch pvc case?

Why is the price of the multipacks higher? The cost of a single pump is $145. The cost of the five-pack is $1450. Isn't that twice the price?

Amazon determines the prices. Thank you

GROUND WIRE MUST BE REPLACED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
4/5

WITH 12 GAUGE WIRE, HOW IS THIS ALLOWED? This pump was delivered in excellent condition. Surround is made of styrofoam, and the box is made of two heavy-duty cardboard boxes. There was also a roll of waterproof tape and a roll of teflon tape included in the package. and three marine-grade butt splices (which were completely useless and of poor quality) that were given away for free. Purchase 3m splices on your own. br>br>Installation was fairly simple, though I did have to disconnect the motor from the pump in order to replace the pitiful ground wire, which should be done first. I have never seen a company use such a tiny ass ground wire. This pump will burn out in a week as a result of this. This is a straightforward procedure. Remove the wire bar and the screen that surrounds the pump intake by undoing the two small bars on the side (two screws). The waterproof wire topper is held in place by two screws. Remove the four bolts that connect the motor to the pump. A 13mm wrench is required. Carefully separate the two parts and set the other aside. Next, unscrew the wire holder that is holding that laughable ground wire and crimp a 14 gauge wire (preferably green) into a ring terminal. Over that, I wrapped a small amount of shrink wrap. Replace the four screws that hold the pump to the motor and tighten them. Replace the wire intake screen with care, being careful not to pinch any of the wires. Then, using the two clips, secure the wire holder in place. After that, testing is required, because who wants to put in all that effort to install a pump only to discover it's a dud? The simplest method I used was to place it in a 5 gallon bucket, temporarily wire nut the wires, and turn on the breaker to see if it worked. Mine started spraying water as soon as it self-primed. Perfect. I turned off the power, unscrewed the wire nuts, and tossed this bad boy into my aerator tank to replace an 8-year-old Goulds pump. br>br>Now all that was left was to connect the power and plumbing wires. This was easily accomplished. Remove the dry plastic cap from the top of the pump output, which keeps the testing water inside during shipping. You'll need a PVC 1 1/4 male screw to female slip adapter for this. Make sure you use a lot of teflon tape on the threads the first time because there's no way to add more teflon after you've glued it up without cutting it all apart and starting over. br>br>Next, dryfit your plumbing pipes, elbows, couplers, and so on, and once you've got it how you want it, draw alignment marks on the piping so it's easier to reassemble it after you glue it if you're in a hurry. It's a simple matter of aligning the marks and you're done. Allow for a couple of hours for the glue to dry before pressure testing the system. br>br>I had a three-wire pump (two hots and a ground) for powering this pump. It was only a matter of matching hot to hot and ground to ground on my previous pump. To keep the water out, I wire nutted the wires together, wrapped them in electrical tape, and filled the other side of the wrapped wires with silicone. br>br>I hope these instructions make it easier for people who aren't mechanically inclined to put it together. If anything happens, or if the pump stops working, I'll let you know. Keep that sticker with your serial number on it as well. There was no factory sticker, serial number, or fixy.

Purchasers beware: It worked great at first (update 5 months later), and then it stopped working after a few weeks
3/5

I suspended the pump inside a 6" well casing that held 240 pounds of cement in a 50 gallon trash can. I sunk it 15 feet into a lake and pumped the water up 29 feet to a pond that serves as the beginning of my waterfall/stream. So far, the pump has been quiet and has performed admirably. br>br>(Pump worked great for 5 months and then died; now I have to wait until spring to dive down into the lake and replace the pump; I had hoped for at least a few years of operation, not just 5 months. ) )br>br>UPDATE: (br>br>UPDATE: (br>br>UPDATE: ( I made the mistake of purchasing the same pump again, but this time upgraded the ground wire to 12ga as other users suggested. Let's hope this works this time; it works fine when it does, but not for long enough. I'll keep you updated as the months pass. br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. It didn't take months for the review to be completed; it was completed in less than a week. When I pulled it out of the water after a few days to test my electrical connection, it had already started to rust (see photo). This product should be banned from sale because it only works for a short time before failing. I'm not going to buy a third one and will instead return this one. Spend your money wisely and buy something else. A rating of one star is excessive.

Review of the previous three years
5/5

It's been three years since the pump was installed. It's been in regular service for the most part, but it's been running nonstop for the last six months due to an underground pipe leak; I just had to look up which pump I bought because I had an unrelated electrical problem. I wanted to make sure I got a 220 volt pump so that I could reconnect the wires properly. Anyway, I decided to write a review after doing some research. I was initially put off by the small wire size, but I can't say that I'm disappointed. So far, no issues with this pump have arisen. For the price, it's unbeatable.

Just as I had hoped
5/5

I called Hallmark after reading their website and explained my needs to a very helpful representative. He asked me a few more questions about my well (depth, open tank or pressure tank, output, various heights, etc. ) and then did the math for me before making a recommendation. Everything worked and continues to work perfectly because I ordered exactly what he said to order. Given the assistance I received in selecting my pump, the prompt shipping, and the product quality, I'm not sure why some of the negative reviews I saw exist. In a heartbeat, I'd do it all over again with them. Homer, Alaska (br>Tbr>Tbr>Tbr>Tbr>Tbr>Tbr>Tbr>T.

After a year in operation, the pump failed
3/5

Just after the warranty period has expired. I'd take a different route. Because the product failed just over a year after it was purchased, it was no longer covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Despite the fact that the pump was installed by a certified well installer and had only been used for a short period of time, it failed. Even though the pressure and operation were satisfactory while it was operational, having to pull and replace the valve every year is inconvenient. Based on the performance of our unit, I cannot recommend this pump for any purpose. The motor appears to have simply stopped working after further testing. No signs of overload or electrical burnout were present when the system abruptly shut down. I'd spend a little more (which we did) on a more reputable brand, because as the old adage goes, "you get what you pay for!" In this case, the phrase "fully applies" is absolutely correct.

It's fantastic! Excellent price-to-quality ratio! I believe it could easily fit a smaller well casing based on the measurements
5/5

IT'S AN EXTREMELY SMALL SPACE! If you have the smaller casing, be aware that replacing it will be difficult. In the south, it is placed in a smaller PVC casing. It was a very tight fit, so I decided to pull it and get another one halfway down the casing. It was impossible to get it out of the casing! Finally, we had to hammer our way to the bottom of the well by laying things down long enough to hit with a hammer! When it says it will fit, just know that it will be VERY tight on the small side! br>However, I purchased the same product for my other property in the north, which has an 8-inch steel well casing. It slid right into place. No problems!br>However, both of them work fantastically, and I've had no problems with the pumps' operation! A fantastic product at an even better price!.
