Questions & Answers

Hello, at the top of the 5" casing, where do you tie the safety rope that is connected to the submersible pump? Please assist you as soon as possible. Thanks. ?

You'll need a 1 1/4 npt to 1 inch brass adapter from a plumbing supply store. This has eyelets where the rope can be attached.

Is it possible to use a well pump with the incorrect depth head?

As long as it stays within the parameters, it's fine.

Will this pump work with a 220 volt power supply?

No, it's 110; most deep well pumps run on 220, but this one runs on 110 and pumps 33 gpm. Amps aren't an issue.

What impact will a bad depth head pump have on the pump and the water system? Is it really that important?

It's what I use in my 10-foot-deep septic system, and it works great.

There is a significant difference in the ratings
5/5

even more In recent history, we've seen a lot more of this. a significant difference in reviewer ratings for a particular product - WHY? (For example, lots of four) With a bunch of 1 stars, I give it 5 stars. 2 stars). I purchased something. This pump was put in in October of 2016. Since then (after about 900 hours of operation), it has performed flawlessly. I'm very pleased with it. I gave it an appropriate rating. So, if a company sells a well-designed product with excellent quality control, most of us would give it a 4 or 5. However, if the product works well for some of us but not for others, there is a quality control issue, not a design issue, assuming no other factors (such as being dropped on the floor). There will always be idiots who don't get what they paid for. We can tell who they are by their reviews, even if they rate the product too low. Nonetheless, some of the negative feedback is well-written. I'd expect Hallmark to look into them thoroughly because their future business is on the line.

There are some reservations
3/5

But, for the time being, I'm quite content. So. When I was looking for a new well pump, I did a lot of research and kept coming back to this one because the price seems unbeatable. 145$ br>br>Prosbr>145$ br>br>Prosbr>145$ br>br>Prosbr> On Amazon, every other
As from 10 to 2019 has 85% approval (4 and 5 stars combined). Because 90% of people who have a bad experience will leave a negative review and possibly 30- 60% of satisfied customers write positive reviews, suggesting that people are generally satisfied. br>High GPMbr>Extremely efficient at pushing high pressure (mine fills my 140gal tank to 60psi in less than half the time it took my old 1hp pump to fill it). br>br>Consbr>It runs on 110 volts at 1 horsepower. This is a major flaw right off the bat; a 1hp motor should be 230/240v to avoid the motor drawing too much current. This pump draws 10 amps due to its design (although mine draws 12). My pump motor's lifespan will almost certainly be shortened due to the high amp draw. I was planning on going with the 230v hallmark options, but they don't seem to get nearly as many positive reviews as the 110v options (not sure why, but that's the case). br>br>The check valve from the factory is made of PLASTIC! It's simple to replace the check valve with a genuine stainless steel one. However, the fact that Hallmark ships it with a plastic check valve makes me seriously doubt the overall design/shortcuts taken on this product; if they want to save money, they should just design/sell it without one and tell customers to get one. I was able to purchase a one-bedroom apartment for a reasonable price. For 22$, you can get a 1/4" STAINLESS check valve. (Avoid brass; stainless steel does not play well with brass. ) br>br>The wires are thin, and my pump draws 12 amps, I'm not sure how long they'll last. 5 AMPS, for a current of 12 amps, is a very thin wire. br>br>Durable 230v version with thicker wires and a real check valve. They'd have the ideal product in their hands. br>br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. After two weeks, I pulled the pump and it began to pull 15 amps. It was rusted when I pulled it out. Did some research and discovered that these pumps are being wholesaled out of China for $50?.

I've had it for a few weeks and it's great! It keeps up with the appliances and is very quiet
5/5

Oh, boy, did I make a blunder. I intended to order a 230 volt pump, but accidentally selected this one, which is only 115 volt. My well is 100' deep, and I figured I'd need 230v to power the house, which is what the old one did. br>How about this pathetic 115 volts? I've had it for a few weeks and it's great! It keeps up with the appliances and runs the washer and shower without any noticeable pressure lag. That's a fantastic offer. Buy one! br>*editor's note: Pump has been performing flawlessly for over a year and a half.

This is not a pump to buy
3/5

This pump was purchased, installed according to instructions, and ran for about 20 days before becoming too hot to handle, shutting off for about 5 minutes before restarting. Of course, it was past the 30-day return period, so I called the company's help line, spoke with someone I couldn't understand several times, and received no assistance. Even though the pump was broken, the company representative told me that I couldn't return it. Amazon responded with a credit after I sent them an email. Doing business with this company or purchasing this pump is not something I would recommend.

Pump that works best on 110v
5/5

For my ranch, I bought this pump. I discovered an old well that is 300 feet deep, so I set the pump at 220 feet and ran a 11/4" plastic pipe 3/10ths of a mile away to feed a pond, still getting 20 gallons per minute. I'm using a Honda 3000watt generator that I've had running nonstop for three days and I'm very happy with the pump.

Great pump at a low price! This is what I put in a new 200' well at my cabin, and it works great! I added a 1 to the equation
5/5

I used a 25" to 1" adapter and a brass check valve (according to the instructions). There were no issues with the installation. br>br>In testing, we were able to get 20 gpm of free-flowing water. There is no pressure in the tank, so there is no flow. Only time will tell if this pump will last, but so far everything has worked out well. br>br>We have a 75-foot run from the well head to the house, so the pressure tank was installed next to it. The water pressure is adequate. br>br>By completing the installation ourselves, we were able to save thousands of dollars. We were quotes for amazing amounts by local companies and saved approximately 90% over their prices.

It charges my pressure tank in a tenth of the time it takes my 1-gallon tank to charge. Who thinks it's a good idea to use cast-iron components on a mostly-steel chassis? Is there a stainless steel submersible pump?.

In September of 2016, I bought this pump
4/5

The . In September of 2016, I bought this pump. A float switch controls the pump, which is used to feed a leaking 1/4-acre pond. So as the water level fluctuates, the pump runs around 70% of the time. My first pump ran nonstop for about 6 weeks to fill the pond to the desired level of water, and it worked perfectly. After a few months, the pump stopped working, and I contacted Hallmark customer service. Support was extremely responsive and helpful, eventually paying for the shipping of the failed pump back to them and replacing it with a new pump at no cost, despite the fact that the failure was caused by damage to the motor winding. Despite the failure, I am impressed with the quality of these pumps, as well as the responsiveness and professionalism of the Hallmark support team.
