Questions & Answers

Does this need a certain number of watts to operate? It is for off-grid use that I am looking for a pump In grids. ?

At full load, a 3/4 HP pump would pull about 560 watts because electrical HP is converted to watts at 746 watts/HP. The speed of induction motors, however, is usually around On a 120 volt system, that would be about five. An 8 AMP circuit.

What are the connections for this product? Is it plugged in or does it have ?

The unit is equipped with a pressure switch and ac attachments for standard 110 or 220 ac wiring, but there isn't a

Could this pump be used to pump water from a lake?

Those pumps can work wonderfully with a good set up Keith, and you have set up a few of them for that work.

This model is listed as 230 volts on the product page, but other sites list it as 115/230. Please ?

There are both 115 and 230 circuits even though it came set at 115

Selected User Reviews For BURCAM 506227P 3/4 HP Noryl Shallow Well Jet Pump System

The system is not functional from the beginning - The packing job sucked*br>First, there was no way to keep the pieces together
3/5

It was just thrown into a box with some wadded up paper along with the pump. On the tank, it was clearly evident that the motor had shifted out of its mount There is no way to tell if the problem was caused by rough handling or poor assembly. As for the second point, contrary to what Q&A says In response to this, the pipe at the inlet has a one-inch diameter The correct number is 1/4 inch rather than 1 inch. There are 12 discharge ports, each of which measures Ports are the way to go There are many of them Due to the fact that there is a tee at the top and bottom of the tubing connecting the pump discharge to the tank, and there is a 1" threaded plug included to close up the hole you do not wish to utilize. The third problem is that the device does not come with a power adapter To put on a cord is not rocket science, but I am not sure how to rewire it for 230 volts. As a matter of fact, it would have been nice to know that a cord was required before ordering. In addition, there is no switch to turn it on/off. Regardless of whether it is plugged in/wired hot or not, it isn't In addition, the priming port is very small. A tiny hole in the pump made it impossible to fill it quickly. Fourth, the connection between the pressure tank and the pressure pump is braided vinyl, as opposed to the braided stainless steel you are used to seeing on other oil In the sunlight, we don't know how well it would last over time. The answer won't be revealed to me. The manual was nonexistent as well. The machine does not know anything about precaustion, wiring, adjust the pressure switch, limitations, or The pump appears to have been returned and was simply sent out again without any quality control. My inlet pipe for the 1-inch water pump was unable to be adapted to the 1-inch inlet pipe once I obtained the necessary bushing Once I connected it to the motor and fitted 1" of suction, it immediately made an awful squeaking sound. Nevertheless, it is possible that something is wrong with the motor. It sounds like the impeller is rubbing badly on the volute. As soon as the pump was started up, the water was pumped out, and the suction was lost. An inlet pipe 60 feet long and 1 inch in diameter with a precharged valve contains water from a river Upon entering the river there is a foot valve on the intake and a filter at the pump. There is approximately a 10 foot total suction lift on the gondola The capacity of 25' is well within its advertised limits. The pump simply couldn't maintain a suction (despite the water being pumped into the inlet pipe before installation) and the foot valve was held in place. The intake threads were sealed with Teflon tape thread sealer, and the inlet pipe barb was secured with a hose clamp so that no air would leak out. was afraid of the noise and didn't continue running the pump for very long did not want to permanently harm this turkey since he was definitely going to go.

It was a very disappointing experience
3/5

This was a poor-quality product. After reading the reviews, I purchased a pump. But the first one I received leaked between the tank and the fitting that came with it. Even when I tightened the coupling, the leak persisted, so I had to exchange the pump for a new As soon as I received the new pump, I installed it and it worked fine for about 26 hours. I got no water pressure, so I checked on the pump, only to find that the fitting connecting the pump to the tank had blown out and had been running for about an hour by then. A new leak started as soon as the fitting was hooked back up. The only thing I would recommend is that if you do choose to buy it, make sure to get the protection plan. It doesn't really seem to hold up very well, so you will probably need to replace it as soon as the warranty ends.

Buying is not a good idea
3/5

I had no idea how long the water spurted out since I was not home during the time that it broke. It worked well for 8 months then cracked causing it to send unknown jets of water into the air. Cheap materials were used to make the product. There must be a defect in the thickness of the wall of the pump.

This pump is fantastic
5/5

As my old pump had failed and my bladder tank was 35 years old, I decided to replace it. It looked like an appealing unit with an all-in-one design. In addition, I am converting my home into an off-grid house so this unit looks even more appealing, and it will be easier for me to power compared to my old unit. br>Easy to install and prime. br> If you are not using it as a booster pump, but as a water supply, you will need an inline check valve as many have stated.

This pump worked perfectly when I used it as a replacement at the lake cabin on our river, and it worked as advertised when properly installed
5/5

Read all instructions carefully to ensure a safe and efficient installation. Primed in about 30 seconds and had no leaks or issues. Please make sure that the issue is not due to your setup or installation before leaving a negative or less than positive review.

I couldn't understand the bad reviews since the pump was a great value for the price
5/5

In only a few months I have pumped through it enough water to last for 5 years on a standard household water supply. 2500 gallons of water are pumped through it every day. In my opinion you would get very long service life from it if it is installed properly. You may want to consider using flex pvc pipe going in and out of the pump for According to one review, the reinforced hose that connects the pump to the tank has been noted as an issue. The braided steel used in most of these is way better. You can use this device to replace a Walrus pump, which is an all in one booster pump. Motor, pump end, and tank are all separate, so if the pump end or motor fail, they can be easily replaced. The red lions in this are much better than the ones in the iron junk.

It is a wonderful product, I am extremely It was reported that the first pump we received had been damaged, but the damage was not visible until after the pump was powered on After contacting Amazon, the product was returned without incident, and I received a new pump almost immediately
5/5

We received a new pump that is in perfect working order. I was able to get it up and running in no time at all.

Ensure threaded parts are used Tape is present
3/5

Although it looked good before the plumber began installation, when it had been connected, it began leaking from the outlet of the pump. According to our findings, the outlet from the factory had not been thread taped. As soon as we taped it, it snapped off (plastic fitting) during the reinstalling, so the plumber had to spend an extra hour and purchase additional parts in order to get it back in working order. This suction pump appears to be working properly and is of adequate suction, however I hired a contractor to install it for me. I was disappointed (and it was expensive) that the bag was not threaded I would have given a positive review if the session had not been taped.
