Hello there, the motor is dual voltage (115/230V). In addition, this pump comes with a warranty. 230 volts are used. Remove the electrical housing cover if your power supply is 115 volts. Toggle the 115-volt switch on. Remove the cover and replace it.
Because it has a built-in pressure switch that turns off the pump when pressure reaches maximum, it could be used that way, but doing so would cause the motor to turn on and off too quickly, causing it to burn out quickly. If you want to use a demand pump, you'll need to install a pressurized water tank in between your faucet and the pump. This is a different water reservoir than the one from which the pump draws. Instead, the pump turned on and off at a rapid rate (about 10 times per second). When I contacted customer service, they said it was most likely a faulty pressure switch (this pump comes with a pressure switch). They told me I'd get a new one in a few days. They sent me a brand-new pump, which surprised me! The pressure switch isn't the only thing that needs to be changed. br>The new pump performs as expected, cutting off at 50 pounds per square inch. I was blown away by the customer service and the speed with which they responded!.
br>br>Ordered this one and was pleasantly surprised to discover that it is less than half the size of the previous pump, with a half-amp draw. br>It still takes me a lot longer to fill up my pressure tanks. br>br>I can power this pump with a 1000 watt battery inverter, whereas my old pump needed a 2000 watt generator to start! br>Excellent choice for solar or backup power in the event of a power outage.
I went on a two-week vacation three weeks ago, and because the pump operated quietly, I left it running and pumping air for the entire time. When I returned, I realized it, but it continued to work as well as it had the day before, despite the fact that other pumps had melted or stopped pumping.
This pump is used to boost the pressure in my small vacation cabin's water system. It's situated between the cabin and a 1100 gallon storage tank. A small pressure tank (5 gallon, I believe) and a back-up pump are also included in the system. Between the pump and the tank, there is a flow control valve. The pump would cycle on and off every second without the pressure tank. The pressure tank's pump only turns on when the water is turned on, and then only for about 10 seconds. I can't speak to the suction power of the pump because it is installed below the water tank and does not need to draw water from a well. br>1/2 horsepower appears to be sufficient, and it consumes very little power from my PV array.
My well was immediately repaired. This is a fantastic little pump. A FloJet 1/2hp, which was about 12-years-old, was replaced. I am fifteen years old. This pump is about half the size and weight of the previous one! However, the pressure and flow are increased. br>br>However, it reaches the shutoff pressure much faster than my old Pump (which is obviously worn out). br>I purchased this pump as part of a Warehouse sale - As a result, the Fan cover has a large dent in it. So far, everything has gone smoothly. br>br> When it's first starting out and sucking, it makes an odd metallic noise. I'm hoping it works for a long time and that the noise is just a pause in the noise - After three weeks, there was no more.
I had ordered another well pump, but it only lasted a month, so I returned it and bought this one, which has been performing admirably. It's small, but as the saying goes, "good things come in small packages. ".
It primed itself on the first try and has performed admirably since then. When compared to most low-cost metals, cast iron is an advantage. Pumps made of plastic that are inexpensive.
Our pump had broken down, and we needed a replacement as soon as possible. This one arrived in a few days, was easily switched to 115 volts, and was quickly hooked up in place of the old one to begin irrigating our garden! So far, everything has gone according to plan. There are no complaints in this house!.
