In my case, the error message written on the inside of my water heater was "thermopile". As a result, I replaced the thermopile and now it It was a bit tricky to bend the aluminum tube into the correct shape without kinking it, but it was successful.
For the State Select water heater, it worked well. For my gas water heater, I had no problem replacing and installing the gas thermopile assembly onto the heater pilot assembly.
It was the perfect fit, and I ordered it right away. The item I bought was not the cheapest, but I looked everywhere before making the purchase.
The water heater this goes with is the AO Smith GCV 50. My pilot light would not stay lit. I changed this part out for my damaged pilot assembly and it worked like a charm. Try this before you buy a whole MW burner assembly.

enjoyed that the part was plug and play. The price was more reasonable than most of the companies. It arrived quickly and I would purchase from them.
My Kenmore 40 gal. washer works just fine with this. I have a model 153 water heater.
