Easy enough to do. I located the stud so I could mount it more easily. As soon as the bracket is screwed into the stud, two straps keep it in place. Make sure that the plumbing system is not under pressure.
Mounting an 2 was made possible using this. An expansion tank over the hot water heater in my house holds 1 gal. In order to install the main support, I used bolts and screws provided. It took me a minute to figure out how the straps around the tank tighten, but once I realized that the metal bands keep wrapping around the tank and that the tightening screw lies flush with the band, with the gear turning to tighten the bank, it made sense. The length of the metal band is adequate for a 4 gal tank as well.
I had no trouble installing the product, and I had no trouble using An expansion tank of 5 gal fits perfectly and is held securely by it. The only complaint I have is that the screws it came with to mount it to the wall are a little bit flimsy. The anchoring hardware used was better for mounting the device.
Amtrol St 12 is a great companion for this system. There are many settings to choose from. The toggle anchors were mounted on two studs and the anchors were secured with screws An EZ anchor and an anchor plug.
Due to the pex plumbing I was installing in my home, the tank could not be mounted, as it is usually done. With this kit, the tank can be mounted a few feet away from the wall and is held securely. It is well worth the price.
