Questions & Answers

device be attached to the inlet (suction) side of a jet pump that is used for potable water wells?

Hey, Here's a picture of our Holdrite water heater connectors. They are made and tested specifically for use in pressure systems. It is unfortunate that we do not have any experience testing or recommending the use of these hoses for suction situations. You may contact our customer support department at 877-777-2447 if you have any further questions. From 700 to I am writing to express my sincere thanks to you.

device be attached to the inlet (suction) side of a jet pump that is used for potable water wells?

Depending on how hot it is, you might hear water being sucked through the flex when it gets hot.

Should I use Rectorseal 5 instead of Teflon tape for this project?

I'm calling from Holdrite. Holdrite's water heater connectors are fitted with EPDM rubber washers necessary to make the connection watertight. It is not necessary to use a pipe thread sealant or Teflon tape on these connectors. As the EPDM rubber washer could be damaged by using pipe thread sealants, we recommend against using them. This item is made in China and contains a warning about cancer and birth defects
3/5

As you can see by the Amazon description, I got suckered in by the designed, machined, etc. in USA claim. The two I ordered pretty clearly say 'Made in China' on them, so it seems this claim is false. It would be a problem for me if the price was higher than the other similar non-virtual products on the market There were no US options here, but the prices were similar. Moreover, the California Department of Public Health warns that they can bring about cancer and birth defects. Who knows if it's a chemical in the gaskets (I wish the proposition 65 warnings would mention exactly what could cause birth defects or cancer instead of just stating "something in this product may cause such a condition"). Anyhow, the ones I got (24") are also maybe 1/2 inch different in length from each other, which doesn't make a huge difference to me, but that does speak volumes about quality control. The items are not sure if I will keep them or return them. A lead-free one would have been a better choice. In addition to the fact that they are made in the USA, I also chose them because they are available with 1" FIP on one end and 3/4" FIP on the other, ensuring I do not need adapters for installation.

In accordance with "The 1" QFC There is a defect in part 0124, and the manufacturer will not fix the problem
3/5

During the QFC holiday event, I purchased (3) QFC items. After purchasing these 5"x5"x24" hoses, everything looked great at first. However, I noticed a slight drop in water flow, so I thought it was the water softener. When I broke it all down, it turns out the hose is defective. There is a 0 on the rubber washer inside. There is a restriction on water flow in the 75" inner diameter (opening). Please be aware that the hose is sold as a 1" hose, and that it has no indication that it is a 0". 75" in length. A 1" sharkbite hose that I have that is similar (Sharkbite is owned by the same company as Holdrite) has a 1" rubber washer in it as well. As part of this issue, I have tried two phone calls over two weeks, submitted a request using Holdrite's website, and asked a question on Amazon. They promise to call me back but do not do so when I Holdrite's customer service is unacceptable, and I will not purchase anything related to this company in the future. It means that I have to go out and buy 3 more hoses and reinstall them Set up everything (not as easy, clean, or simple as it seems).

The hoses are great
5/5

Hoses made of these material are superior to those made from stainless steel Hoses that are braided do not break down as easily and do not bend as much. Life expectancy of 12 years). In my case, the hoses had to be bent in order to match up the inlet and outlet (see photo). There was no other hose that worked as well as these QuickFlex ones.

It was easy to hook up and it was of good quality
5/5

After replacing my water softener, the old hoses had 3/4" pipe thread on both ends and the new unit had 1" input, which meant I had to use adaptors than the original hoses. There was a leak, and it was miserable. As well, I was unable to buy what I needed at Home Depot. During my search on Amazon, I discovered these and they met exactly my needs. One of the connections leaked as soon as I put them on hand. Having only needed to tighten the fittings a fraction of a turn, all leaks stopped and everything is in perfect working order. It was also easy to bend them into the proper shape and they stayed in The experience became pretty satisfying by turning a bad one into a good one.

A 180 degree turn significantly shortens a turn
5/5

It is of a very high quality overall. I couldn't find anything in my area that was 1". Installing my new water softener is going to be easier with this. I bought it. A cabinet style softener was the inspiration for the current setup. The two-way system I needed to use had to be switched. As the Outlet on the old Pex valve faced downward, I had to make a 180 degree turn upward to attach to the elbow on the new valve (much higher than before). In order to turn a 180 degree, you will need about six inches of depth. It is like a "U," with a distance of 6" from the outside edge of one side to the outside edge of the other. Depending on your setup, this may be relevant or not. In any case, the pipe is exerting a great deal of pressure in an attempt to spring back By turning this 180 degrees, the hose is shortened to 15 inches (tip of one nut to tip of the other). It will shorten to 17" (tip of pipe to bottom side of bend) if a 90 degree bend is made. There is not much thread left to screw it onto something. I was surprised by how little there is to screw it onto. Then again, maybe. 25" in length. The rubber seal inside and some plumber's tape should be adequate to keep water out. If you decide to bend your pipeline, make sure to support it if you do so so you will not break it.

An installation done by a professional would be ideal
5/5

This water heater pipe is electrically isolated, preventing corrosion at the heater or at the seam between the pipe and the heater. There are other flexible connectors available that look similar to the ones you need but they lack none of the following At the ends of the wires, there are plastic insulators. It has been my experience that corrugated stainless steel connectors are the perfect option over braided varieties because they can be shaped during installation into a shape that does not stress the joints and There is a strong desire in braided types to return to the straight and narrow way, while the others are put under pressure.

It Is Hard To Get Good Results With This Washer
3/5

Flexible is not the word to describe this product. will be installing and uninstalling it a couple of times a year as a seasonally activated system. I find it fairly stiff, so installing and removing it is a little tougher than I'd like. There was a large leak at the connection when I first installed it. When I disassembled it and rebuilt the connection, I still experienced leaks. During the third attempt, I noticed that with enough force and tightening the nut too quickly, it could not hold the washer in place. Due to this, it partially encroached on the ID of the hose and caused a gap on the outer edge of the nut where water could leak through. In order to keep it tightly in place, I tightened it slowly until the washer was snugly in place, then applied more force to lock it in. When it was connected, it did not leak, but I suspect that every time I attach it, I will have to keep an eye out for leaks. Regardless, this will be used on a somewhat rugged site, so I hope it will last longer than rubber hoses.

The system is leak-proof
5/5

In order to replace my water softener, I had to get a new one. Salt systems were used for the two prior water softeners. Approximately 10 years was the life expectancy of the salt softeners The age is 12 years old. In order to prevent water pressure drops, I wanted a system that required no regular maintenance and had a 1" valve. I used these flex lines with some Teflon tape and it was incredibly easy to install the new This is a fantastic line. Definitely recommend.
