For this faucet, I am very pleased with the quality and how easy it is to install. The bottom opening was plugged with a short pipe and a cap, since I only needed it for a shower. When I first bought it, I was unsure why it had screw valves. I'm quite glad it has them now though. I can easily turn off the water if, in the future, I need to replace the trim kit. If the valves are screwed in, everything is fixed. Additionally, they eliminate the need to flush out any debris. If one has more pressure, they allow cold / hot balance as well. There was nothing I could do about it. Probably the only caution I would give others is to make sure the bracket, which comes attached, is screwed A loose faucet is difficult to fix once installed because it wiggles, making it impossible to reach the two screws. Installation is easy and the product is well made.
There is so little temperature control you need to either turn your water heater way down or, like we did, turn off the valve. Make sure all stops are in order. The temp adjuster is a plastic, rickety piece of junk, as others have complained. In my opinion, the faucet will need to be replaced long before the tap breaks. There is good quality chrome hardware, but the shower head looks a little There is very good house pressure, but there is a weak flow. It is stiff in the head. A weak flow occurs with the handheld, causing it to fall out easily. The worst part of it is it emits The smell is sharp and oily like that of chemical plastic. Despite spending a lot of money on my new bathroom, the smell is terrible, and the door doesn't close. Adding a few weeks to it would be fine, then I would have to replace it. As far as I can tell, the screws that came with the escutcheon look like they came from the garage in a jar. Chrome does not shine like the other metals. When you pull up the knob to activate the shower, a tacky piece of plastic is revealed. It is an experience I have never had before. In addition, my plumber said Delta faucets are more complicated and harder to install than Moen's. The final result looks good from a distance, so it looks reasonable. This is on a higher scale than contractor grade materials. The effect will most likely last a long time. However, the cost is not worth it.
I like it. My soldering skills aren't good, so I had to solder the copper ends so I could connect the pex sides. It was easier than going all the way through. For those who are new to the process of installing, I recommend watching some YouTube videos to get some ideas.
The tubing is definitely 1/2 inch PEX, and I had no problems with it crimping. However, there has been a leak from the cartridge already just over a year and a half after installation. My last hope is not to have to deal with plumbing again, but I know I have a lifetime warranty on this item and everything.
I will definitely choose another brand when I remodel my plumbing in the future.
Installation of the unit was a breeze since it arrived ahead of schedule. I am impressed by how sturdy the valve is and how well it operates. I am concerned about the PEX line. Will it stand up to.
These valves were ordered on time and I received the valves however they were in rather poor condition Broken or missing plastic pieces were found on some pieces of black plastic. As well, these PEX tubes are only for 3/8" and not 1/2" diameter. As a result, I tried to fit 1/2" pex tubing over the inlets and 3/8" pex tubing over the inlets and I was unable to. Pex tubing of 3/8" fits as I would expect and can be crimped easily. Pex tubing is non-corrosive and half an inch in diameter Starting point. This valve will be returned to you.
It is easy to install to PEX.
The old style is more appealing to me.
