Questions & Answers

Is this compatible with the fluidmaster stainless steel braided supply line? asin: (or something similar) b001bq039k? If not, what parts do you need to connect them?

Yes, they work with fluidmaster braided stainless supply lines; simply remove the top cap and connect the line.

I'm curious about the origins of this angle valve. ?

SharkBite is a brand name for CASH ACME of the United States and Canada, and the valve is manufactured by Reliance Worldwide, which has locations all over the world. These are excellent valves that I've used numerous times with no problems.

Is it possible to use this on threaded pipe?

No . However, on 1/2" hard copper pipe, this is not the case.

Is it going to be able to go over the 1/2" chrome line?

Only 1/2" copper, PEX, and cpvc are used, and the valve's discharge is 3/8" compression!

I grew up as the son of a hardcore plumber, so I can attest to the quality of this product
5/5

At the tender age of five, Mapp taught me how to sweat brass fittings to copper. While my Dad slept in the truck, I was running copper lines and angle compression stops. That was something I did for a long time. Thank God for the youthful vigor and the opportunity to be compensated with Cheeseburgers. br>br>When I recently replaced a toilet, I ordered a couple of these angle stops as well as a compression stop in case anything goes wrong. br>br>I'm blown away. I'm blown away. br>br>I used an ol-drill to remove the old compression stop and ferrule. timey puller used 400 grit sandpaper to smooth out the 1/2" copper, then steel wool to finish it off. I noticed that the copper, while clean, still had a small groove from the compression ferrule, which was 30 years old. br>br>With trepidation, I pressed the new Sharkbite stop against the copper, and it settled in exactly where I expected it to. My internal confusion stemmed from the fact that the fitting, once installed, continued to spin around the copper pipe; I later discovered that this was not a problem unless a nut was wrenched onto the stop. The O- The seal was being made by Ring. I connected the toilet line without incident once the pressure was up and tested. I twisted the valve on and off several times with no seal breach. br>br>As a comparison, I used the other Sharkbite valve I ordered as a test to abuse and determine a limit. I can say that with a straight face and a "semi-" I couldn't get the angle stop to fail because of the "polished" connection surface. On a different copper line, that same angle stop is currently in use in the same bathroom. br>br>Wonderful product. Cinching up compression valves and waiting for the drip is something I'll never do again. Please send a dozen to me. br>br> All of the angle stops in my house need to be replaced.

Works as designed and is over 99% quicker and easier than compression fittings! It was a cinch to use

Water valves for the sinks in my house were made of plastic and were one piece. I started replacing them with new valves and water lines over the last year. I was using compression angle valves and went to Amazon to order some when I came across the SharkBite angle stops 1/2 inch for copper lines, which is exactly what we have. br>br>I ordered two of these to see if they worked as advertised and installed them today. It was incredibly simple and there were no issues! I used my dremel to remove the old valves and a fine emery cloth to clean the copper pipe thoroughly before pressing the fitting on firmly until it stopped. I then gave a firm tug to ensure they were locked in place. They work fine after I connected the water lines and turned on the water (I was on the phone with my son as I turned on the water outside in case one blew off). Since earlier today, I've checked them several times and found no evidence of leaks. I'll take a look at them in the coming days. I'm very impressed with this product; it's so much easier than using two wrenches and a compression style fitting, which requires more tightening, time, and effort. br>br>I'll be ordering a lot more of these as I replace more valves and lines. I've included photos of both the old and new SharkBite valves.

These are fantastic
5/5

I'll start by saying that I despise plumbing, and after 20 years of living in an older home about a 30-mile drive out of town where local tradesmen "charge a little extra for the zip code," the only thing I despise more than plumbing is trying to find a plumber on short notice. br>br>I used Sharkbites on my kitchen remodel ten years ago and was completely impressed. A compression valve under a bathroom sink failed two days ago, about a week after I had just replaced the flooring. I went to the hardware store to get a replacement compression valve - After 50 years, the copper tubing had become too fatigued to work with and was little more than a stub. Sure enough, the new one was dripping so badly that we had to turn off the house's master valve - There's nothing quite like returning to outdoor plumbing (using the RV) for a few nights. br>br>On the off chance, I ordered one of these from Amazon and waited patiently. I won't squeak their hinges again because the local hardware store doesn't have them. br>br>I had the old (new) compression valve and ring off, wiped off the pipe, and slapped this thing on 10 minutes after it arrived. I swung the faucet open and crossed my fingers. Perfect! I'm not taking out the vanity and cutting back drywall tonight to solder in a new stub! br>br>I have 4 years until I sell my house (and move to a new state) - I have a feeling these will be just fine for the new owners.
