The brand-new Kohler Worth bathroom faucet I bought at Home Depot flowed water like a calcified 10-gallon bucket. It's a one-year-old faucet that's still in its original packaging. Cleaning and blowing out the existing aerator didn't make much of a difference. A total of two trips to Home Depot are required; and one to Lowe's, both of which were unsuccessful in locating the appropriate replacement. Finally, I found the correct part number, K1278467, on the Kohler website. This American Standard item came up when I searched for that on Amazon. br>br>It fits perfectly, and for the first time, the brand-new Kohler faucet works as expected right out of the box. Come on, Kohler, you need to take care of this minor but persistent problem.

This device works in terms of functionality. I needed to replace a cache aerator in a house I recently bought, and I had a hard time figuring out what would actually fit in my faucet because there were no size standards. This item is not available at any of the local hardware or plumbing stores (big box or otherwise). I would never use a cache aerator design if I were starting from scratch. This thing is a disaster waiting to happen, what with the key and the aerator's teeth. By their very nature, the plastic teeth in both the key and the aerator are prone to damage. This can quickly complicate the installation or removal process, making it more difficult to use. br>br>Should I use this instead of a cache aerator? That's fantastic; it'll do the trick. The key design created by American Standards is vastly superior to the one that came with my home. Is it time to start over? Purchase a new aerator and faucet.
I went to Lowe's and Home Depot with my old arerator, but neither store had the one I needed. Lowes, on the other hand, had a multi-key keychain. I used the key to determine the exact size of the arerator, then entered that information into Amazon, where this little gem appeared. It also included the key for a very low price. It is the perfect fit for my bathroom faucet and completes the task. However, because the arerator sits pretty high up in the faucet, I left it slightly uncovered so that I could see the teeth on it. br>5 br>For quality, price, and ease of installation. It appears to be the same item as the aerator that came with my Kohler Devonshire bathroom faucet, except this one is green rather than pink. br>br>My brand new faucet splattered all over the place because it didn't have a good stream. The aerators on both of my Kohler faucets were defective. Both aerators were a slightly different color and design, even though they were the same model faucet. The first was light pink on the inside and a little TOO aggressive, splattering water all over the place. The second had a greenish tint to it. ish inside that did not aerate in the least, instead reducing pressure to a clear trickle br>br>I ordered these, and they're exactly like the originals in size, shape, and color, but they're more consistent, and they both let out a perfect stream of aerated water with no splatter or pressure.
The key tool worked great for removing the aerator from my moen bathroom faucet, but the new aerator was too small and had a different thread size, so I cleaned off my old aerator, disassembled it, and swapped in the black o ring gasket from the new aerator, and it now works perfectly. I'm not sure what model of faucet I have, but I've included a photo as a guide. On the left, you'll see the included aerator.
